Freshly cooked fish to order tasted wonderful. The traditional thick batter was perfectly crispy, as were the chips. The proprietor was friendly and made us feel really welcome. He even offered a cuppa while we waited for the fish to fry. Such genuine warmth and friendliness is rare. We will definitely visit again next time we visit Kent.

I live around the area, the place is a go-to for cheap yet great tasting food. A lot of people go there after or before work, such as construction workers (who are very common in the area). I recommend this to anyone nearby, it's certainly a treat.Parking: Usually people just park nearby and walk across the road to it or from Watchgate's sidewalk, the parking spaces are sometimes taken and not always free, but no-one really minds anyway.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp so that anyone with a wheelchair is still able to eat there.

Had cod and chips. All fish cooked fresh to order. Which was nice batter not to thick. They do a selection of different chickens dishes that looked very tempting maybe next time.

The owner, Dave, is really friendly. He and his staff make some wonderful food. I highly recommend the sausage with chips, curry sauce and a Dr Pepper. If you don't want that then get the tandoori chicken and rice.
