Yet to dine, but the menu looks fantastic.

We had a delicious meal and an excellent rosé wine (which is often not the case in some pubs) Both hosts were lovely, and the atmosphere was welcoming and easy. Would definitely return.

Always used to be a great pub, until the "old" landlady left a few years ago. Has struggled to find its old form since, until that is, the new owner stepped in. The old chef (sorry I cannot remember your name!) has returned and with that the food is now better than any other pub within 20 mins of Cowden. Outstanding food. Light years ahead of other, lovely but over-priced, local pubs. The new owner himself is similarly excellent. Charming, engaging and helpful. Service is perhaps a fraction slow, but we were in no hurry so it was fine. I expect they will find their feet on that front soon enough! Lovely pub. Will return. Often!

Great little pub serving home cooked food. Good value when it comes to eating here, wine list could do with being updated. Staff all very friendly. Ignore the review obviously left by ‘a Karen’ below. Clearly has to much time moaning about being ignored. Who cares!!

This simple Country pub is warm and welcoming. The landlord could not have been more helpful and friendly and the chefs were amazing, the quality and quantity of the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back for more! ThankYou!

Strictly locals only pub Located in a tiny Kent village of Cowden . It's quaint spot could 1st off have better parking. Recently re-,opened for food after being closed for a minor refurbish. This place is a haven for the super wealthy locals of Cowden. I found one of the owners Fern, very nice and friendly, but the other one Nigel, has a selective kindness policy. Friends have had dinner there and said it was not bad. If you are not a local , there, you may get a bit of a rude cold attitude I'll pass

Delicious Sunday lunch with the kids (and our dog) at this very friendly and popular pub.

We went to The Fountain for a family Sunday lunch and received a friendly welcome. We were seated at a spacious table with ample space for seven (and a dog) in the older part of the pub near the stove. My wife declared that the roast beef with all the trimmings and fresh vegetables was the best roast lunch she'd had for ages (and she's had a lot!). My son and I had the Barnsley Chop off the specials menu and they were large, pink and tender and served with a tasty sauce, perfect dauphinoise potatoes and fresh vegetables. We all had puddings, all of which were generous portions; mine was a superb fresh plum crumble with custard. The quality of the food and standard of cooking was higher than the usual pub lunch, more like a good restaurant, and excellent value for money. We took our time and were not rushed and I'm sure we'll return soon.

This is a real gem of a pub restaurant. We visited on a Saturday evening with friends. We all had an absolutely delicious meal and sat in a very cosy part of the pub near the log burning stove. The Landlord was very friendly and made us feel at ease as soon as we arrived. The other staff were very friendly and helpful and talked us through the menu and the specials board. The food we ate (all from the Specials Board) was delicious and we found it difficult to choose because they all sounded so good. The quality of the food and the choices were exceptional and all made on the premises. My husband said the Chicken, Leek and Ham pie was one of the best pies he had ever eaten. We met the Chef after our meal and complimented her on the excellent food (evidenced by all of our clean plates!) and said we would definitely be back again soon.

Fabulous family meal for 4 adults and 3 toddlers. Food was brilliant and the kids loved their pizza from the kids menu. So happy we have such a fab pub nearby, will be back soon.

The Fountain is at its best again with Nigel running the pub and Fern cooking the food. The Tennis Club enjoyed a superb buffet lunch with lots of great food and sat in the garden and had a very relaxed time. Nigel has turned this pub around to how it should be - friendly welcome, good beers and great food. Thank you Nigel and Fern, we very much appreciate you - Victoria & Paddy

Thank you Fern and Nigel for a great lunch after our tennis finals morning. We arrived late after some exciting matches on a very hot day. The food was delicious, exceeding our expectations! We enjoyed a lovely afternoon sitting in the garden with excellent food and friendly service.

The pub has recently been refurbished and had a new chef join and I must say it has exceeded expectations upon a recent visit for dinner. Very high quality delicious food in a charming, buzzy village pub environment. The interior is also looking much fresher after the recent work.

We had the most amazing Sunday lunch. The food was superb! I can recommend the home made pie; I've never had a pie so packed full with delicious filling. Really good service too. We'll be back soon.
