My partner and I ate hear last night and I can honestly say the fish pie I had was Delicious. My partner went for the minted Lamb pie and that was also Amazing, Staff and service were first class and very attentive, would definitely recommend this pub and the Amazing dishes they create ?

Absolutely amazing food. The lamb pie was lovely and you get so much meat. It was very tender and you get loads of potatoes and veg.Very good value for money.Lovely staff too.

We went here this evening after spending quite some time, trying to toss up between here and the Kings Head. To be fair, the Kings Head might well be very good, but what we found at The Butt of Sherry, was that the food was very good. My wife had the ham egg and chips and was not happy that the egg was crispy around the edges (no pleasing some people). However, I had the steak and ale pie with mash and vegetables which was amazing. The pie was constructed of a “ramekin” of filling with a puff pastry top. I have never had a pie with so much filling. The flavour was really good and I pulled a bay leaf out of mine – it had been really well cooked and had an amazing flavour. Delicious. Only I had desert which was Bread and butter pudding. This was a little disappointing as it was a slice of bread and butter pudding “traybake”. It had been reheated in a microwave and was tough. That said, the flavour was pretty good and there was a very generous helping of pouring cream. The Guinness was good

We have come back to this little gem of a pub over the last 3/4 years when we have our yearly breakaway at The Hythe Imperial Hotel. The food is always amazing & great value for money. We are always made to feel really welcome. We really want to mention Kerry (bar lady) & Aleisha (waitress) who are a real credit to this establishment. They are so friendly , nothing is too much trouble & are great for good ole chat & a giggle. Even the chef (sorry i didnt get his name) popped out for a chat. My dear old mum & dad loved it here too when we bought them down last year, my dad really loved the friendly banter with the staff.Thankyou guys see you all again soon.
