The food was amazing and great value for money. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. We visited for lunch dinner and sunday roast and were made to feel really welcome with our 2 dogs. Would definitely recommend this place for a great motorhome stopover. The landlady couldn’t do enough for us and was a good laugh even with our growler of a dog !!!!

I highly recommend the mixed grill, it's £25 but you get enough to feed two people.

I was there for my works Christmas dinner. So there was around 30 of us. The staff did a fantastic job looking after us the dinner itself was excellent I couldn’t fault it! The veg done to perfection, loved the sprouts especially! The pub itself is very tastefully decorated a fine building with an interesting history. The morning after debrief at work and it appears we all thought as I did. I have to say I am looking forward to a return visit to The Valiant Sailor in the not to distant future!

Nice little pub, large car park. We got permission to sleep in our camper in the car park and enjoyed an amazing home cooked meal. Lovely staff and very welcoming. Got a bit noisy and lively on the night but it was a Saturday and people were having a good time. Good food, and decent prices and very good sized portions. My wife had the burger, it was huge and tasted amazing. I went for the hunters chicken, 2 decent sized chicken portions with bacon and cheese. Thick cut chips and a bowl of pea's. ?

Disappointing meal. Items we initially wanted were 'off', the medium rare steaks ordered came well done and the tacos were tasteless and although the waitress was nice she was clearly inexperienced. The menu is interesting, with various items containing meat, fish and dairy being notated as VE indicating that they were vegan!
