So, I thought I'd write this whilst fresh in my memory. The bar staff all good craic, been in a couple of times now as living close by whilst visiting my friends who are working down here from time to time. All previously, well, tonight is the 1st time we have eaten there as normally just a few drinks.Food came out in a timely manner, but that was as far as manners went. Your one, the blonde lass, had an absolute stinking attitude on her. I'm not sure why, I can't recall ever seeing her previously, so I'm 100% it wasn't through a previous interaction. Her behaviour was both aggressive and uncalled for. The rest of the staff are very engaging, but she was just not bothered about making a good example and encouraging a good customer experience.People have bad days fair enough, but when I'm spending 30 plus quid for a meal and a couple of pints, I'd expect a friendlier reception than what was given as my good was brought out.Customer engagement training is definitely needed, I'd hope the constructive feedback doesn't fall on deaf ears.

We really enjoyed our visit as usual anmd we were very well looked after by Jenny.Complements to the chef. All the food was really good apart from the Brussel sprouts which were very hard. Wonderful roast potatoes.

Service needs some attention most of the week I ate in the restaurant I found the service slow and after paying for a all you can eat breakfast the waitress didn't ask what we wanted just presented a small plate of food which I found to be bad value. However silvia really redeemed the experience she was polite and made the following breakfast great

7 of us visited here for a Christmas set meal, WHAT A DISASTER!! First of all there were issues with drinks available at the bar, I ordered a large New Zealand white wine, and when I ordered another they never had any left, and while choosing another drink at the bar other customers were told there chosen drinks weren't available, one person had 3 choices declined! Our table was decorated nicely with Christmas crackers etc, but we were sat in the window and it was very cold, the radiator was stone cold so coats needed to be worn while eating. As it was a set menu we had to pre order our food about a week before our arrival, so when our starters didn't come out for well over an hour I was a little surprised, a few of us had ordered the Patè, well I wouldn't of given that to my cat, it was hot, dark brown on top and pink inside and runny where it was so hot, this was served with a garnish that looked as though it had died weeks ago!! Our mains came out around 9.30pm, the roast turkey dinner looked lovely however 2 of the dinners had absolutely NO GRAVY on them. When I raised this with the waitress whilst she was asking if we wanted any extra sauces, she was rude and abrupt and barked, "I KNOW I'M GETTING IT NOW! So we sat patiently waiting, then started eating our food as we couldn't wait any longer, infact we had all nearly finished our meals and one person had completely finished when a different waitress came and asked if our food was OK, I raised that we didn't have any gravy and that the waitress said she was getting it and also how rude she was. This waitress apologised and did get gravy for a small amount of food left on one plate. Then it was time for dessert..... we still had all of our main meal plates on the table, which we cleared ourselves to a empty table to make room for the desserts. These were bought out by a different waiter, we pointed out that we shouldn't have to clear the table ourselves and his reply was that they were "TOO STRETCHED".....the after eight sundaes were not consistent, one person had half in her glass of others, but by this time we were so fed up with the whole experience that we couldn't be bothered! I do appreciate that at Christmas time restaurants can be busy, however this certainly wasn't the case and there were lots of empty tables available. It took 3.5 hours to eat our food. The service was diabolical and I've had better food in the morrisons cafe. Personally I'm not into HOT RUNNY PATÈ or rude ignorant staff, so I absolutely won't be returning!!

Much better places to eat - arrived mid week at just gone 12pm - all we wanted was a bit of lunch and a drink and then get off to a prebooked appointment at 3pm. My dad was in a wheelchair and we stood for over 20 minutes waiting to be seated in a restaurant that had just a few seated. After we were finally seated we ordered 2 club sandwiches, chicken coujons and nachos. The nachos and coujons came out first after about 40 minutes and they were terrible. 3 small coujons that were cold and hard and chilli beef nachos that had the texture and taste of a 3 day old serving. We then waited another 40-50 minutes for our club sandwiches and we wished we hadn't bothered. It was basically 3 slices of toast with scraggy little strips of dried up bacon, small pieces of chicken amongst lettuce and tomato. The egg was hard and tasteless. It all came out cold with a side portion of greasy 'cheap' quality chips. I have had club sandwiches in the past and when you bite into them the egg is runny, ideal for mopping up with the toast and it is normally hot. The best part of the meal was my glass of coke. By the time we had left it was 2.30pm and we had to rush to get to an appointment when we should have had plenty of time. Poor service time in a restaurant not even 1/10 full and midweek. Food terrible - won't be going here again.

Family dinner out. Sunday carvery was great usually most places are dry and soggy. The main menu items were small in portion but nice enough. The kids meal however was the worst of everything. Regardless I would come back again no hesitation.

Went for lunch in the sun with 2 children. Asked to sit outside and was accommodated. Went into garden, it was disgusting. There was fox poo, there were cigarette butt's everywhere and all ashtrays overflowing. There was rubbish strewn on grass. There was a broken unsafe garden table with no tape or warning (except when sitting and staff told me it was unsafe and to move, still proceeded not to tape or put sign on). There were broken ceramic plant pots. It was a shambles. It had been a warm weekend and this was a Monday but again 1.30pm and not being that busy, I'd assume someone would have done a quick clean up during the morning. It really put me off but the children were hungry, so we sat inside. Staff were friendly and approachable. Food was served fast, and hot. Inside was clean and tidy. Toilets clean. Plenty of parking. Just a little effort in the garden would have made all the difference.

Food was good. Although bill was £22.98. When I checked payment was charged £28.08.Brought drinks at bar. carvery obviously self service so ultimately was charged over£5 to be brought the bill. Not happy with that.

Clean, tidy environment. The food was perfectly fine for a 2 for £10.99 deal and our waitress, Jenny was extremely professional and efficient. Will definitely be back.
