My first visit! Welcomed warmly and shown immediately to our table. Our orders were taken quickly. We started with large glasses of fresh, cold and delicious orange juice. My choice of breakfast/brunch was Eggs Benedict. It was freshly cooked and my impression was "yummy, yummy"! A real treat. The large number of patrons pointed to the popularity of this place. Would recommend for a special experience.

Really lovely country pub, we went for a golden wedding anniversary and the staff had added a congratulations card to the table and a bottle of Prosecco. Incentive, tasty food.

We had such a lovely Mother's Day dinner. We had trouble deciding what to order because there were so many wonderful choices on the menu. Excellent cocktails

We visited the pub / restaurant for a Mother's Day meal and whilst I hadn't actually visited before, members of my family had and were very positive about the experience previously: great menu, nice atmosphere, good location etc.Unfortunately, on this occasion we found the experience rather disappointing for several reasons, so much so I felt inclined to write a review:- The pub was quiet so service should've been very straight forward- The sough-dough bread which was one of the starters was genuinely stale and incredibly dry. We decided best not to mention and move on but at £6.95 it was cheeky to serve this.- On two separate occasions drinks were ordered but they didn't arrive. Again, based on the pub not being busy this was disappointing- After being given menus, no one came to take our food order for 25 minutes until we went to the bar and asked if we could order.- The main courses were nice and came promptly after ordering in fairness- After finishing our mains, the plates remained on the table for another 20-25 minutes and the waiter clocked this but didn't bother taking the plates away. Whilst this didn't bother me a great deal, considering he wasn't serving another table it was bizarre.- Eventually when they were cleared, he passed us the dessert menu and, despite being ready to order, he continually walked by us several times. I wouldn't mind this but it just seemed a lackadaisical approach. After already asking to chase drinks that didn't arrive and to order a main at the bar, should we have to chase ordering a dessert too?- Lastly, my brother at this point had decided to complain, bearing in mind that this isn't a cheaper pub, and this is the main reason for my review: he wasn't rude but informed our waiter (not sure if he was the manager too) that we were disappointed by the service throughout the evening, not in a rude way but to the point. Rather than apologise, the waiter / manager incredibly had a go back at him! This went on for a few minutes...Regardless of whether he felt my brother was right or wrong to complain, that's absolutely not how you approach that kind of job. It's that bad service, it's laughable. I like to think he'd had a bad day and that's not his normal persona but that's irrelevant.- Lastly, rather than order dessert we felt best to leave (didn't want spit in a crumble!). We asked the man for the bill and we sat another ten minutes waiting. No bill arrived. We went to the bar to ask again and the gentleman hadn't even passed the message on...As you can imagine, when the bill was paid we asked the 12.5% service to be taken off.I would like to add that the 2 younger members of staff were courteous and nice throughout the evening, it's just the older gentleman serving us that left a very bitter taste.

Visited 9/3/2024. Great food for our family of five. Good options and delivered very well.

Poor service. Ignored at entrance, had to ask for drinks order to be taken. Then 12.5 % added. When we split the bill and we were £4 short of the tip the cheeky waitress stood there and waited for it!!
