Ordered a takeaway of a few item which one of the items was sweet and sour chicken balls. I drove the 8 miles to pick this up payed for it and then drove home. When un packing the Chinese there was no chicken balls I rang them up and told the young lad ( who has no customer skills) that I was missing my chicken balls to be told to go and pick them up I told them that I live 8 miles away so can they deliver them they said no. I asked for a refund and they hung up, I rang back and asked to speak to the manager to be told no I eventually got the refund after a couple of attempts. I will never eat here again. Very rude and incompetent staff

The food is consistently delicious and is the best Chinese in East Sussex! Good portion sizes, can be a bit expensive but is worth the extra cost. Customer service is extremely poor and feels incredibly unwelcoming when you arrive. You seem like a burden to them. I don't come for the service though, and the food is too good to upstaine some sort of principle.Would have been 5 stars if they were just friendlier. Fantastic food though!

We ordered from Zan on a Saturday evening and all agreed it was the best Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had. Great menu selection, top quality and very generous portions. It took just over an hour to arrive which was expected given it was a Saturday night, but the food arrived hot and fresh. The food wasn’t sticky and greasy like other takeaways we’ve had in the past. Would thoroughly recommend!

After seeing some bad reviews I was sceptical about ordering, however ordered here a few times now and never has let me down, great tasty Chinese food!!!

Always tastes stail and never fresh, doesn't taste like other Chinese restaurants in the area. But they deliver. My advice is collect from others.

We had a fixed price takeaway meal for two. Whilst being more expensive than nearby other Chinese takeaways, it was certainly high quality.

Very good standard Chinese takeaway.Beef was lovely and so was the fish-fragrant aubergine. Nice egg-fried rice too.Plenty of vegetables too in the sauces which is ace.Restaurant were very kind coming all the way out to Rosemary Lane and made special effort to include us - thank you very much.Good portion sizes.Kind and friendly staff.One thing I would say is complementary prawn crackers could be a little less oily! We couldn't eat them as the oil kept making me cough. May not be a usual thing for this place, may just have been a one off.Ultimately a great experience and definitely recommend this place.

We phoned to order a take away from Zan’s and we were really surprised with how nice it was given that a lot of reviews on TripAdvisor are slightly negative. I’m Vegan and found they ad a lot of choices to suit my diet. When we ordered they weren’t sure on how many fritters in a portion so we ordered 2 and they phoned back to say there a lot in it so we said one portion would be enough and it was. Nice on the phone too. Everything was hot and tasty. Will defo be ordering from them again.

As our friends fancied Chinese food, we once again used Zan in the centre of Hawkhurst , about 5 miles from their house. Phoned order & went to pick up meals . As we have had various parts of our order missing last visit - which I made a point to the young assistant- we tried our best to check the contents , left in front of the window of the premises- shooing away flies .. although, in vain - turned out we were short on the spring rolls my partner ordered.. I’m fed up with the poor service of this takeaway, it’s expensive- the restaurant (although temporarily closed) was another poor experience previously, and if our friends want Chinese food, we will bring it from another shop- I will not use this one again.

Pretty much the only reason to get a takeaway from here over the two other (better) places in Hawkhurst is that they deliver. Since they refuse to take payment by card over the phone now for totally spurious reasons I won't be able to use them any more. Avoiding cash during Covid

Love this Chinese restaurant,been going for many years and don’t have one single complaint,they are very friendly and food is always super yummy. Just ordered one now with a friend from Zans and already exited to eat nom nom. ☺️☺️ Thank you for many years and more of great foods! Best Chinese ever! ?

The best Chinese takeaway around here. Not the run of the mill basic Chinese. Delicious, slightly more expensive but so worth it. Always deliver in the time frame specified and everything I've tried is one step above most other chinese takeaways.
