“This is a great, privately owned, traditional old country pub with lovely decor and friendly staff. I've been in a LOT of pubs in my time and this one is right up there and strikes a great balance between feeling nice and cosy and welcoming with character but also being well lit and clean. Great selection of ales and lagers and the food is very nice - not the cheapest but to be fair it is good value as the food is really good quality. There are regular themed evenings and the management are always working hard to offer customers a great experience. This weekend we brought our two teenage kids for Sunday lunch for the first time and really enjoyed it. The fire was lit, there were other people in the restaurant but not too busy, atmosphere was nice. Everything was well cooked, decent portions, the roast beef was lovely, service was spot on - pretty much everything you want really. I love this pub and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone - get yourself in there for at least a pint but ideally some food too!”
