Very disappointing meal at The Sir Thomas Wyatt today. I started with the chicken goujons, which were fine but basic. My main was the cobb salad with chicken breast. The lettuce was awful, not cos lettuce as stated on the menu, very stringy and unappetising. The server said there was no avocado but the plate came out with avocado that had clearly been defrosted. It had a very strange consistency and was very watery and cold. The grilled chicken was dry as a bone and had no flavour whatsoever. The Caeser dressing ran out long before the salad. I’m not a fussy eater and rarely leave anything on my plate but gave up once the dressing ran out as I simply wasn’t enjoying it at all. I didn’t bother with dessert based on what I had been served for starter and main. My colleagues’ meals looked equally lame. On the plus side, the coke is good value as you get free refills and the servers were helpful even when run off their feet. I didn’t complain at the time as I didn’t want to cause a fuss in front of colleagues. I would be hard pushed to return.

Made to feel very welcome, great food, chips were perfect, waitress friendly and had good suggestions, service was a bit slow but they did seem quite busy.

What a waste of time food was the worst you could eat, festive option with dry meat and deep fat fried veg. Chef seriously needs training on menu. Staff complaing about managers and how hard they work over others. The place has had a re furb but needs a staff overhaul too. It would seem the place was dead for the time of night.

I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the years but this really was the absolute worst dinner I’ve had there and probably the worst meal I’ve had in any restaurant. I usually have a steak in this sort of restaurant but they had a “festive” section on the menu. I decided to order the Turkey Roast with all “the trimmings” but checked with the waitress what was meant by all the trimmings. She didn’t know for sure but said that she thought it included all the vegetables and stuffing and pigs in blankets but probably only one pig in blanket and gravy. So the gravy was described as red wine gravy. Anyway the dinner was a complete disappointment. The turkey was very salty and so was the gravy. It didn’t taste like it was made with red wine. There were 3 Brussel sprouts. No stuffing. No pigs in blankets. A soggy Yorkshire pudding and some peas and carrots. The roast potatoes were nice, but there were too many of them and I realised that this was probably to make up for the lack of trimmings. It was a different waitress who’d delivered the meal to the one who took the order and the order waitress eventually came back to see if the meal was alright and I said no, it’s really not and there are none of the trimmings we talked about out. She said she was sorry and she’d sort it out. She came back with some cranberry sauce a miniature jug of gravy and a tiny bowl that had a miniature “pig” that was very pale with the bacon missing and a ball of stuffing that turned out to be inedible. I didn’t eat very much of the dinner, it was just the worst roast dinner I’ve had in a restaurant. In fact I think a ready meal from a cheap supermarket would have been more enjoyable. Added to the dreadful food, they sat us next to a massive table of people with small children and babies who were very noisy, squealing and running around and coughing a lot. It was impossible to talk to each other as we just couldn’t hear. They never came back to clear our plates or ask us if we wanted desert. Altogether terrible. I’ve only given 2 stars because we felt sorry for the waitress.

Our party consisted of 4 adults and 3 children. We were served by a very friendly and efficient waitress named Carol. Although the Restaurant was very busy the wait for our food was not too long. The round of drinks to arrive from the Bar took much longer. All 7 main meals were very good with a minor exception that the skinny fries could have been hotter but had obviously been left on the hotplate whilst all 7 meals were prepared for delivery to the table. On the downside, the outside seating/smoking area on both sides of the main doors into the Restaurant were very dirty with overflowing ashtrays on every table, dirty glasses/litter everywhere, which gave a very poor first impression. Likewise inside the Restaurant the windows are in desperate need of a clean off of black mould and a repaint and replacement venetian blinds.

We had excellent service from Carol our waitress, we were a table of 13 adults/teens and pre ordered our menu choices. The food was hot and tasty from the Xmas menu, was served in a timely manner, hot and everyone enjoyed it. Carol was attentive to our needs always asking if everyone was ok and if we needed more drinks etc, nothing was too much trouble. There was only one down side the disabled access is fine if you are in a wheelchair chair being pushed but one of our party was limited mobility and could not manage the steps, the wheel chair ramp was way too steep and she really struggled with that. We all enjoyed our meal and had a lovely time.

First of all, we had a great waiter named Ben. Also it was very busy but we got served very quickly. Good food for a reasonable prise, all a person could ask for!

We went for an early supper (5pm) with friends. Restaurant very quiet so no excuse for waiting nearly an hour for our food. We asked the waitress where our food was and she brought it straight out. It had obviously been left on the hot plate for a long time. Sent 2 of the meals back but the replacements were tasteless and greasy. Weren’t offered any free drinks or discount for our very disappointing experience. Will never return.

Had a tabled booked for 18:30, Absolutely disgusted, waited over 50 minutes to get our drinks order taken, that’s without taking orders for our food, 2 waiters for the hole dinner area, understand this is Christmas but disappointed in the service. Why not tell people you’re understaffed? Waiting time for food was 1 hour 30 mins.

Food is fairly decent for the price, but does seem to come up warm and not hot, like it's been sitting on the side waiting to be served. Had this experience with both Dinner and breakfast. Staff are very polite in the restaurant and seem very rushed, but do provide a great service.

Food was good, served hot and reasonable quality. Service was very slow as they were clearly short of staff, but the staff were friendly and helpful - just rushed off their feet.

We arrived as was seated very quickly, so we thought this looked promising. Given a breakfast menu wasnt told about helping ourselves to breakfast/drinks. Had cereal, etc , ordered our cooked breakfast. When it arrived, my husband had black pudding missing, and mime had hash browns missing. We both had ordered poached eggs, which were more like hard bolied. I had 1 of everything expect tomatoes, and my husband was given 2 of everything he ordered. We won't ask how many eggs, etc . The eggs were very small compared to what i have a home and when stayed at other hotels. The food was that hot, either . We finished our cooked breafast and had some delicious warm chocolate croissants. Which we had just finished when the waitress appeared with our missing black pudding and hash browns in the same bowl. They should if ben in separate bowls as i hate black pudding .Though out the breakfast will were not asked once if everything was ok. The staff were busy and maybe needed to have more on at weekends. We paid and wasn't even asked how everything was. Tea was very hot, so that was good. Coffee from your machine was awful, so hubby said. Unfortunately, i dont think i be rushing back on mynext rare Saturday off work.

The food was really not very good. The fish and chips was all batter but they replaced it. The chicken burger was very plain with undercooked french fries and no garnish so I had to pay the extra for some salad. The service however was brilliant, very attentive and friendly and they were happy that we took a birthday cake which they brought in with candles alight. Also we stayed for ages as we were a large group and they didn't rush us.
