Took my sister inlaw and daughter out for lunch today we headed down to the hooden horse Westwood Cross, we love it there as the manger Rob and the staff are very friendly. But today this young lady made it really special for my sister inlaw Nicky who is in a wheelchair and has disabilities.This was her first time at the hooden horse the young lady brought our meals over to us and took the time to speak to my sister inlaw and was really perfesonal in her role and has fantastic customer service skills.She was so polite we asked her for more napkins as we needed them for nicky and other bit for her,She just went and got them for her with out any hesitation and the restaurant was really busy ,so thank you Keeley for the fantastic service you gave us 3 today, you are a lovely person and hope to see you again soon. Keep up the wonderful customer service as now nicky wants us to bring her back again as she enjoyed it so much. Julie, Stacey & Nicky. X

I'm a regular to hungry horse which I visit at least once a week and always greeted professionally and very helpful. This evening I came to eat and was told 45 minutes wait even though plenty of tables were empty and no reserved notices out . So I thought not too much of a problem I'll grab a drink and just wait. Whilst I was waiting for a drink I see unprofessional behaviour behind the bar and then when I was served a drink shortly after a very rude woman who came from behind the bar came up to me and ask me not to loiter at HER bar. I've never felt so disgusted in my life to be made to feel that I'm a low life hanging around at HER bar even though I was waiting for a table, regardless if she knew or not her manners were unacceptable .it's clear to say the friendly staff weren't in on Tuesday evenings. I'm now contemplating not even returning to that restaurant which I have been going for some time now on a Monday every week. I've made a 40 mile round trip like a do every week to this branch even going past my local Ones to come here , I've even left now not knowing where I'm going to eat this evening. I'm disgusted

Booked a table here for Sunday lunch, as I thought it would be busy. I was wrong. Placed an order for two roast beef diners at 1 pm. At 1.30, I asked where our food was. ‘Oh, it’s a 50 minuet wait, but yours is next one to be served’. There was no mention of the 50 minuet wait when I place our order. Five minuets later our food was served. The beef was of very poor quality & it was hard to distinguish the beef from the gristle. The vegetables were tasteless. I won’t waste my time at the Hooden Horse ever again.

So went to the hooden horse for a meal obviously, my steak undercooked so I sent it back to be recooked to my ordered requirements, when it came back the chef had tampered with my beef dripping sauce by adding something rather disgusting to it, I asked the duty manager to try it but he wouldn't, nothing was done about it, feeling most disappointed in this visit and I will be sharing this with friends family and social media, surely this can't be allowed to happen in this day and age, still I know not to eat here again...... Other than the company a bad night

Come here almost every week for the quiz. Would never go anywhere else. The staff here are phenomenal. Especially Rob the manager. He is so is friendly, approachable and really makes our experience brilliant. We always have an excellent time.

No sorry. Waited just over an hour for our breakfast. The orders were missing items and the hashbrowns were swimming in fat. Absolutely awful.What we did like was the bacon, very good ,hot and crispy. The toast was good aswell. Not limp.We will not be going back and it's a shame as the menu looked very good.

Came here years ago and walked out because our food took over an hour to come out after ordering and was luke warm at the most.Finally talked the family into returning 4 years after the first fiasco to see if things had changed. Certainly not.Big sign on the door as you walk in saying 45 minutes wait for food. Stood at the door for a few minutes before someone greeted us to be told they were fully booked. However looking around the restaurant there were at least 8 tables free just from where we were stood, and every table outside was also free and it was sunny and warm.Shocking place. Shocking service.Save your money and get a better, warm meal at Wetherspoons with a beer for half the price…

It's a green king, so you know its unlikely to trouble Master Chef anytime soon, but sweet baby moses the food is inedible , I don't mean, not very nice, I mean literally inedible. The vegetarian option was some sort of burnt stick, which, on the plus side, would have made a useful weapon if things turned nasty. Unless you have a particularly morbid sense of adventure, do not go in the toilet, I'm still having nightmares and I only needed a wee.

Popped in as we was passing. Never been in before. Food was hot tasty and delicious. Staff were super cheerful and couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Absolutely love the Hooden Horse. The manager is really welcoming and the staff are beyond helpful. The food is always great, never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Highly recommended for families and couples for a cheap but delicious dining out.

Had a lovely meal here, followed by a quiz. Was very busy but we weren't waiting long for the food, was served by a lovely member of staff called Chloe, she was very welcoming and made sure everything was OK, the food was lovely, very enjoyable evening. Thank you :)

Although booked, table wasn't ready, had to put together ourselves, basket containing cutlery was launched into the middle of the table with no communication from the server. My food and most of the others in my party arrived cold with half the orders missing and the staff were unhelpful & argumentative when asked to correct the problem. My food finally arrived after the rest of my table had completed theirs, still not complete and was of a very poor standard.

The table wasn't ready when we arrived so we had to put the tables and chairs together ourselves, some of the food arrived cold and not the food that was ordered, the staff then argued we'd ordered it wrong on the app but we showed them the app and we had not, the service was awful and the food was nothing to shout about either, definately a place to give a miss in the future
