The food is absolutely incredible. Coming here filled me with joy. It is very affordable, friendly cozy inside. The perfect place for a delicious lunch. Ful medames is delicious, falafel next level, baba ghanoush was so good. Great vegetarian offerings.

Absolutely great curry house, beef curries too, very authentic (if spent a spent a bit of time in India) lovely appetisers and between course complementary mini snacks.

Really enjoyed the fish and chips. Very fresh and delicious. The storefront is very modern with clear menu and plenty of options for everyone from fish to burgers, to different types of chips. Staff was very friendly and kind.

We had an amazing time sitting in the sun across from the beach. Yasmin was incredible helping us navigate the many great options on the menu. Delicious food, fantastic service, and a beautiful location! Highly recommend!

Loved the menu and the waitress was very attentive and friendly.
Relaxed atmosphere and seating was spread out so you wasn’t on top of one another. Weather was good so we ate outside, was a nice spot to enjoy a light bite and watch the world go by.

Secret Spices

Been going to this indian restaurant for many years and now trades under the name Veil of Flavours. Just got home after a meal for my birthday (26/3/26) and the experience was superb. Mixed kebab (with free onion bhaji) and vegetarian wrap for starters followed by and vegetarian biryani and a chicken , garlic & chilli dish with bombay potato & peshwari naan. Food & service excellent (probably best chicken dish I've had from here), reasonably priced food & beer . Thank you for the birthday whisky, much appreciated! Will be back soon. Thank you. Amadeus trattoria Mediterranea

Along with Flavours by Kumar, Amadeus is my favourite restaurant. What's not to love. The food is excellent, whatever you choose. This time I had the beef tagine as my main - fabulous. It was so succulent and tasty. The staff are fantastic - really friendly and helpful. First class experience all round. Thanks.

Just spent another weekend in Margate and although fully booked i wandered past first thing and was very pleasantly surprised that Harry (later realised was owner :) made great effort , whilst getting space ready…to secure us a table that evening … which was a great experience from pre dinner drink at cantina next door … whilst table was made ready .. and the whole experience and interactions with Annie and other great staff , exceptionally genuine .. cared for dishes and service … thank you for memorable night … Mark & Michelle

Aspendos Margate

Ordered from Aspendos for delivery this evening, first time trying them and the food was absolutely beautiful. Fresh, clean and large portions!! They had an offer on starters and sides, so we managed to try a variety of dishes that we wouldn't usually be able to, and every single one tasted delicious. A multitude of flavours and vibrant colours, one of those places you can just tell all the dishes had been made and cooked with love and care. Extremely great prices, and we were even sent free puddings. The only slight downside for us was that we weren't aware when ordering a chicken shish main that it came with both rice and bulgar pilavi, an option on the online ordering platforms to choose either one, or both, would've been helpful as we weren't personally fans of the bulgar and would've switched it for rice, but this is just feedback for the restaurant and in no way impacted our enjoyment of the meal overall. I'd highly recommend. Thank you Aspendos team - we look forward to returning and trying more of the menu ☺️

We able to accommodate us last minute. \nLovely atmosphere, the food was lovely freshly cooked. The staff extremely friendly and helpful as had to move cars half way through, so paused our main course Good variety on menu and there wasn’t a single scrap left on our plates delicious

Pomus Margate

Colour, texture, flavour, service, wine and a MEGA Strawberry Negroni. Amazing experience with my wife on a rare date night away from the kids. Beautiful food, so flavourful and the thing that wrapped it all up was a high level of service. The kind where it’s attentive without ever feeling too much. Honestly, such a beautiful place to eat and drink. Lucky to have this gaf on my doorstep.

Sète

We were delighted that we chose Sète for dinner. The small plates menu is varied with an emphasis on seafood and also some good vegetarian options. The wine list is compact and offers a carafe if a full bottle is too much. The service was friendly and pleasant and we enjoyed some free shots due to a minor delay to a drinks order. The restaurant is quite intimate and there is also an outdoor courtyard area which looked good. All round a great experience and we would be very pleased to return!

Lifeboat

Absolutely love it. Great service, knowledgeable staff, tasty beers. What else could you want? Think it got taken over by Floc recently so some old reviews do not reflect the current business that operates here.

Amazing food and great staff but unfortunately over the last year they have become unreliable as they seem to be closed a lot with no explanation. Such a shame as the food, staff and service when open is amazing

Mullins Brasserie

Went for dinner last night, all of the food was really tasty and a great range of starters mains, sides for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Desserts aperitifs coffee and wine were all great as well! Atmosphere was relaxed and conversational which was lovely and our servers much the same. Would highly recommend, overall experience was one of the best I’ve had personally and the best Caribbean I’ve had too!

Express Kebab House

Very impressed with this place. Food is always hot and fresh, and you can tell they care about what they’re serving. Portion sizes are generous and the value is good. Service is quick and professional, and the staff know what they’re doing. One of the few places that stays consistent every time.

Wheatsheaf

We have been here a few times and found the food very good bearing in mind the price point. On this visit though my wife had the chicken Skewers which came with onions. Unfortunately, they were sloppy and appeared to have been boiled with little or no frying. We did point this out at the time and was told "it's a new menu" which is why the advertised peppers were missing. We also had to pay for additional sweet chilli sauce for £1.29. I could have bought a whole bottle for that in our Chinese supermarket. The other dishes were really good. One small point, I couldn't add onion rings on the app so ordered at the bar. When they arrived there were 2 small onion rings !!\nWe will be back at some point as overall it is good value for money.

SARGASSO

Sargasso is exactly the kind of place Margate needed — relaxed, confident and completely focused on letting brilliant ingredients speak for themselves. The whole restaurant has this effortless coastal energy: buzzing open kitchen, great music, natural wines flowing and a room full of people clearly having a very good time.

Every plate felt beautifully judged. The scallops were outrageously fresh with that vibrant green sauce that you end up wanting to mop up with every piece of bread on the table. The fried red mullet was one of those dishes you keep talking about afterwards — perfectly crisp, deeply savoury and ideal with the rich aioli on the side. Even something as simple as the anchovies was handled with real confidence and quality.

A big thank you as well to David, who looked after us brilliantly throughout the meal. Warm, knowledgeable and genuinely welcoming — exactly the kind of service that makes you want to stay for another bottle and keep ordering.

Sargasso manages to feel both cool and completely unpretentious at the same time — difficult to pull off, but they do it brilliantly. Easily one of the most memorable meals I’ve had by the sea in the UK. Cannot wait to come back.

The Mulberry Tree

Though this pub has struggled the last few years its under new management again and living very local we saw they were doing food again and decided to try it. Glad we did. Interior has been repainted, atmosphere is great, staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the food. Honestly 5* we all had the Sunday Roast. And it was delicious. The cauliflower cheese is honestly the best cauliflower cheese we have ever had when out for dinner somewhere for a Sunday Roast. Will definitely be using again and will try their during the week menu. Lots of variety. Big thank you to all the staff! Returning customers for sure!

Marina Cafe

Newly opened cafe, overlooking the sea. They have chosen the best place for the summer.
Loved the interiors. Though I didn't eat much, but the menu looks attractive. Reasonable price.
Coffees are good. And they have got really nice shakes.
Will visit soon for a nice dinner.

Holly Lanes Fish Inn

The fish and chips was very lovely. Staff was very friendly and kind. Bossman even gave me extra ketchup. Very busy but still managed to be quick with my order. They are also very caring with thier food as it is halal. Best chippy in margate.

Our Nest

It's a charming house in a very residential neighborhood of Margate. A few meters away, there are bus stops to access the best areas of this part of the UK, as well as an avenue with cafés, restaurants, and shops. It’s a 30-minute walk from the city center along the top of coastal cliffs, offering incredible views. There is a minibar in the room, an electric kettle for making coffee and tea, and other kitchen facilities. The TV is good and has local channels, which turned out to be quite entertaining. The bathroom is excellent and very clean. A great stay for exploring the area or just spending two nights.

Made From Plants

Make the best cinnamon buns I have tasted. My first order was on line and delivered by post. But then I discovered they are at Cliftonville Farmers Market or they do local home delivery. Can not say how pleased I am to have found this company.

L'Olivo

Super cute restaurant! The eggplant parm was a little bit undersalted compared to what I expected but was otherwise really well cooked and the arrabiata pasta packed a proper kick. The house wine was… house wine. Take that as you will. The team was very hospitable and would definitely go back.

The Tap Room

What a wonderful spot to get good beers and meet great people. The owners are bloody lovely too. We were very well looked after and will be returning as soon I am back in Margate. Sending love to you Leanne ?

I’m from Brighton & I must say the staff went above and beyond to return them .
We had a lovely time at the Barnacle that Saturday night staff were lovely and welcoming .

Cliffs

Oh Well, complimenti Lorenzo, for re-shaping Cliffs, from this month, as also he has la Trattorìa, so it makes sense.
Now the cafe has a more relaxed feeling, the mood and atmosphere is super friendly, it looks and feels different, there is a tangible improvement.
So the menu it's somewhat more Italian, of course; now you can see the roman touches, such as mortadella sandwich.
I hope to find simple things like croissants or toast and eggy bread or tuna salad, or tomato bruschetta...kind of Trattoria dishes for brunch, why not...?
I enjoyed the coffee, it is a different one and a nicer robust blend.

Lighthouse Bar

Lovely end of pier location with great views on Margate beach and town.
Visited on Sunday weekend and it was very busy.
Bottled drinks were reasonably priced
Friendly service and lively music.
Sweet spot.

managed to grab a table for two on a saturday night when the whole of margate seemed to be fully booked! so pleased we did... great service and nice food tho the lamb was a tad tough. would definitely go back there

Peter's Fish Factory Margate

No day trip to Margate would be complete without a visit to Peter's Fish Factory. We went last Sunday, Jan 4th - an absolutely freezing day.
Had delicious freshly fried haddock and crunchy outside soft inside chips ( are they double fried?).
Great service from the staff and thanks for accommodating the fussy customers (us!)
We ate, with many others, in Peter's dining room around the corner from the shop.
Tasty and filling fish and chips - internal central heating!

GB Pizza Co

Amazing thin crust, wood fired pizzas. Had the Veggie with cheese and a Margarita style.. very delicious and the service from the young man was excellent! Very friendly and accommodating! Cheers !

After foolishly going to a kebab closer to home one evening due to convenience I was reminded why charcoal grill are the kebab kings. the chicken shish is by far the best in Thanet.

Masala Gate Margate

I took my partner here for his birthday meal and we were both incredibly impressed!
I have coeliac disease and both members of staff we were seen by were fantastic!
We popped in around lunchtime to double check it would be fine for me to eat there, and we were satisfied enough to book in for dinner.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is wonderful, very cosy and clean. The buildings original features are stunning.

When ordering, everything was explained to me as to what I was safe to have (pretty much everything you would expect if you’ve been a coeliac in an Indian restaurant before) - but I am very grateful for the thoroughness.

The food itself was incredibly fresh and was absolutely delicious!!! Not at all heavy or greasy, really vibrant yummy dishes.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to other coeliacs, and to anyone in search of a delicious Indian meal!

And - to top it all off - it’s a two minute walk from the beach front!

Oh my the food was AMAZING!!! and the coffee was soooo good as well. An amazing brunch place by the sea with really lovely service. The menu items were all also so interesting and well done. The bread was so good!!

Couldn’t have been nicer! Coffee was amazing and the staff were so lovely - felt really welcomed (even with a small child and a baby!) indoor seating area is pretty cramped however!

This place is magical. We just had a meal at a fish restaurant nearby, and, as soon as we came out, we noticed this wonderful establishment. More than a bar, more than a cocktail bar, possibly comparable to a wunderkammer, a space that is full of history, art, memories collected from the many journeys and adventures around the world that the owner or the managers have decided to showcase here. This is not your average local boozer, even though the staff, and the clientele, are charming, polite, passionate, and very friendly. We instantly made friends with the staff and the other customers that were as delightful as the place itself. I had a great frozen margarita and my 2 friends had a negroni. Both were delicious, even though the bar tenders weren’t sure about the negroni recipe. All the pics I took do not do any justice to the artful mise en scene and set up of this space. From the toilet sign that are green or red according to the fact that the toilet might be free or occupied, to the drying hair device that is straight from a glamorous 60s Barbarella type of setting, this place must be seen to be believed! Go, enjoy, and support local businesses like this ! When I visit Margate again, this will be my first port of call ! Thank you guys you are fantastic.

Curve Coffee - Cafe & Store

Quite possibly the best café in Margate.

Curve Coffee consistently delivers: the espresso is spot-on, the pour overs are worth lingering over, and the brunch / lunch menu is great.

Good energy, friendly staff, a little shopping corner stocking their own coffees, merch, and cups, and it's dog-friendly (with treats provided - bonus points well earned).

Kimchi 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich highly recommended.

Pan Asian Cusine

Incredible place - always impeccable service and so accommodating with many vegan option on the menu too! Eat in or collection the food is always top quality - we have been many times and bring friends from out of town here knowing it won’t disappoint! ??✨??✨

Alfies - Fish and Chips

Whilst being on vacation for a week in Margate we got recommended by locals to go to Alfie's for the best fish&chips.
It's worth the walk from the old town. Huge portion, delicious cod and the owners are absolutely wonderful. We ate in and had a super nice chat with them.

Little Swift

Pleasant location overlooking the seafront. Cocktails were ok, service could have been more sleek. It is supposed to be table service but had to chase someone to take our order.

Olby's Soul Cafe

The food and the service were absolutely amazing! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the cozy urban street view with the little shops nearby gave the place such a lovely atmosphere. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Definitely a place I’d happily visit again!

The Clockwork Cocktail Company

We booked the workshop, which ran from 4-6 and absolutely loved it! There were two of us and we had the place to ourselves. Ellen really looked after us, she was super knowledgeable, friendly and really made sure we enjoyed the experience. Both my sister and I will return and would absolutely recommend. Well worth the £55!

Casa Pizzeria

Wow what a great place, I am gluten & dairy free and the pizza was the very best ive ever had. Freshly cooked looked and tasted the best. Highly recommend for everyone but especially if you have dietary requirements like I do, plus I'm a bit of a chef in my own kitchen so I have very high standards. Five stars out of five stars.

Went today with 3 friends. Absolutely loved it.
The food was stunning, the lady running the place was really friendly, spoke with us and answered our questions. And would 100% go back for more.

And the price was really good.

Westbrook Cafe Burger & Grill House

Really nice food, well priced and very clean. I have been here 3 times now, the first was for a takeaway Oreo milkshake and it was sooo good! The second two times were for food and we weren’t disappointed. I also rate their iced lattes highly!

Definitely come here if you’re looking for good food or drinks!

Westbrook Fish Bar

Went in there on the off chance because my chip shop was closed. Asked the man how big the large portions of chips were because you just can't tell nowadays. He said it will likely feed three people! I didn't quite believe him until he served it up Infront of me freshly cooked. All for £4! And to top it all off, they were stunning chips! Me and my partner were stuffed after them. I won't ever use another chip shop after that. Thank you again ?

The Laughing Barrel Micro Pub

Popped by on a Saturday, I'd been meaning to for a while but stuff got in the way.

VERY friendly welcome from staff and regulars. Everyone very chatty. By luck there was a sllilent disco, only £5. Large range of drinks, includibg gins, rums and good strong IPAs, lovely rums, very dog friendly.

Great pub, wished I'd come here sooner...

Lotus Garden

Recommended this place whilst visiting Margate for the weekend, we ordered a takeaway for 12 people and we’re not disappointed whatsoever, the ordering process was delightful and the food was delicious. Would recommend Lotus Garden.

Po' Boy "The Creole Fish Hut"

One of the best spots for a quick delicious bite by the sea. Fish and chips here (both creole and traditional) are a nice foodie change up from classic “chippies”.

Vibes are hard to beat weather you eat in and grab a pint from the sundeck, or get takeaway to have on the beach or up at the Shakespeare.

The po-boy sandos are also available in a vegan option (a rare find beach side)

Northern Belle

I took a wrong turn and walked down an alleyway only to be greeted by the best (and oldest) pub in Margate. Meeting three members of staff and all three being lovely, the customers being friendly and the prices being more than reasonable this pub instantly became an all time favourite. If you don’t come and visit this pub when you’re in Margate then I don’t know what’s wrong with you?!

New Shanghai

Usually very good, today a bit disappointing though.

Chow mein had no colour to it, and other stir fry dish came without being stir fried, as vegetables were raw and sauces were watery and not thickened. Neither seemed to have been cooked properly in the wok.

Jet Ski World Cafe

Attended here for a car event. Didn’t try the food or anything but others reported it was okay. Nice amount of parking but getting in isn’t so great if you have a modded vehicle. Wouldn’t host car events here if you’ve got a low vehicle. Other than that it’s great. Still yet to try the food, nice views too.

Candy Stop Crepes Ice Cream Candy Floss

Really nice ice creams, just the right amount of choice. Amazing choices for sweets and fudge and also waffles etc if you have time to sit down.
The ladies that served us were really lovely.
Also the price - very very reasonable!

Palm Bay Fish Bar

Large chips are HUGE so be prepared. Haddock was freshly cooked to order with good crispy batter and flaky inside. Would recommend a visit here. Close enough to the bay to drive and park up and enjoy down by the sea.

Sheldons Public House

Such a lovely local little pub. The staff are very accommodating and make you feel very comfortable/welcome. Definitely would recommend for a cheap drink and fun time with your friends!

Best Beano Cafe & Restaurant

The cleanest cafe I have ever visited, the prices were reasonable, the staff were so friendly, food was delicious and brought out quickly. Would highly recommend!

Pizza 2 Night

Just got there pepperoni extra tomato base, and hot hot and spicy pizza and it got devoured in minutes so fresh and tasty and morish.... Also tried the strawberries chocolate pizza desert what a treat will definitely be ordering it again. Dan the owner is definitely the pizza man.

Mannings Seafood

I think the owner, salt of the earth type lady, thought I was a bit simple when I asked how one eats her food. I’m no seafood connoisseur but my kids like it and I was telling them how grandad used to sprinkle on plenty of vinegar and use a pin or toothpick to get the seafood out, so I asked my question with that in mind and the server looked at me, as I say like I’m a bit simple and said ‘you put it in your mouth and chew’, very funny and made my teen boys rather amused.
Anyways I don’t think that kind of thing was on offer and everything was a kinda just use a fork fayre, I can’t stand this kinda food so I only let my kids have one thing between them (thinking they wouldn’t like it) and they absolutely loved it, anchovies in garlic oil (£4 a small tub), I wish I’d let them have one each now or one of the other items as it was one of the highlights of their Margate/Broadstairs visit. But it was raining so we moved on, we returned Monday and it was closed so that was it for them.
