Only a short walk from town is this quaint Parisian-styled restaurant/bar - small plates that are bigger than you expect, the kitchen were nice enough to adapt a few dishes for my vegetarian wife, an impressive drinks selection and some of the nicest hospitality I've experienced. Nothing was too much trouble. We were able to eat at the bar, everyone was super chatty and friendly, the food came out quickly and drinks were kept flowing. Big fan of this place, if and when I come back to Margate, this would be top of the list.? Dog friendly too

The best thing on the menu – or, indeed, perhaps on any menu I’ll eat this year, and it’s only March – is Stock’s chicken schnitzel, there in honour of Ribbe’s heritage. The tender schnitzel, robed in crunchy breadcrumbs, is served with a whopping quenelle of Café de Paris butter, though Stock’s version is like a steroid-riddled curry sauce mated with a buttercream ganache.

We went for the chicken schnitzel after reading Grace Dent's review. It was indeed the highlight, with the tempura salsify a close second, but everything was delicious (including the drinks of course). A lovely, cozy bistro with truly exceptional service (I've never had a dropped fork replaced so quickly). We look forward to going back the next time we're in Margate.

Really lovely wine bar and restaurant in Margate, and having tried Sargasso, Bottega Caruso, and Sète on a recent visit can confidently say Sète is in a league of it's own. They absolutely get hospitality here. Welcoming and friendly vibes throughout. I was solo dining and the considerations given to me for that were great.Wine list is really interesting not just all the go-to naturals that are stocked everywhere, and food was great too.Make sure you visit if you're in Margate.

Truly excellent food, a beautiful cosy bistro vibe out the back and the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!Dietary restrictions: Asked if we had any as soon as we sat down.

The best food and service we had in Margate. The menu sets itself apart by not being fish focused despite its setting in Margate. Highlights of the meal were super crispy, umami explosive tempura pumpkin slices, the chicken schnitzel and beetroot salad. Very cute, bistro vibes with low lighting and great wine selection. But most importantly, Natalia, the owner, and her staff are incredible. The experience was so good, I would consider going down to Margate just for their food and experience.

Absolute gem in Margate! The food, the service, the super chilled chef, the attention by Natalia, the owner of Sète, all in all great experience. Highly recommend ?Vegetarian options: They have accommodated for vegetarian options.

Food was tasty but wasn't particularly hot when served to us. Think part of the problem was it was served on cold plates. Given how small the space is and diners are literally right in front of the kitchen there's no real excuse for the food not being piping hot. With the prices they charge would expect a higher standard. Would try them again to see if it was just a one off.

I prefer my food to be served at my own preferential timings not theirs ! Eg my main dish was served 10 mins before the cabbage as it arrives as staggered ! Not sure why ? Is this trendy ?Very small portionsWhy is corkage charged on sete house draft wine ? and at a ridiculously high amount !Limited menuNothing specialEmporers new clothes

I have eaten here three times now and each time was a treat. It’s a constantly changing menu of French inspired small plates, perfect for sharing. And with also being a wine bar there is plenty of options to choose from to accompany your meal that the staff are only too happy to advise on. Looking forward to going again!

I have a mixed review of it here. The waitress who served us was really friendly and helpful. The food was good.. But the atmosphere was ruined by a few rude fellow patrons. Not sure they're my kind of people.. found them to be quite arrogant and self absorbed. I'll try it again and hope it was just a one-off.
