The price should reflect the quality of the food, £4.50 for oven chips and Aldi’s ketchup is savage. Can confirm the pictures on other reviews are true.(Ask for take out coffees if you pop in for one - cups are half the size if sitting down)

Nice relaxed place with interesting understated decor, good quality food and efficient friendly service on margate seafront.

We only went in for coffee and cake after walking the dog on the beach ( dog friendly) This is my second visit in two weeks and both times the service has been fast and friendly Great coffee and my family enjoyed the cake I will be back again absolutely spot on

Upon my arrival in Margate, I needed a warming coffee. The Harbour Cafe was the perfect choice. My latte and home made carrot cake were delicious. Two lovely young ladies happily served me and chatted with me. The atmosphere was extremely friendly and happy.

A beautiful cafe with a lovely view, nice staff and absolutely abysmal food. It’s a shame because I want it to succeed, but the shocking cheapness and lack of effort put into the food prevents me from supporting it apart from buying a frankly mediocre coffee. Of particular note is the burger with nothing but a bun and sauce, an absolute ripoff.

Fantastic cafe with great food, staff are lovely and friendly. Lovely location. Highly recommended ?

Not vegan friendly breakfast, you get the veggie breakfast without the egg, no replacement allowed.

What a lovely find ? Delicious sausage and bacon sandwiches this morning. Lovely fresh, thick bread slices. Brilliant friendly service too. We'd definitely

We traveled to Margate for a day out during the October half term, we wanted to go to an independent Cafe for breakfast, as we walked through the old Town, all the Cafes were packed with people then we stumble on this one which was completely empty (which we soon realised why). the waitering staff were very friendly and efficient. the tables were very close together. we both ordered a cooked breakfast, one veggie, one regular, I don't like eggs and every time I go out and order a breakfast, everywhere will substitute the egg for something else. when I requested a swap, the waitress told me that the chef has a no swap policy which is ridiculous this day and age , eggs are very expensive currently, I know as I work in the food industry as a professional chef. when the food was delivered it was of basic quality and no where near worth the price tag, we won't be returning here until they get a chef who understands customer service and not using cheap ingredients to flog to the public.

Lovely location and equally lively staff. Nice straightforward menu of breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Great veggie breakfast.

Well where to start, went in with my son, had to fetch our own menus and had to ask for drinks list, one member of staff had a smile but the others looked like they would prefer to be elsewhere. An older lady who I think was Manager or owner was more interested in telling the staff to tell people on the tables out front they couldn't eat food they had brought elsewhere on them. Food was lack lustre to say the least, wild salmon fishcakes that hadn't got any salmon, just potato cake with the worst salad I have had, the veggie option didn't excite either. I know times are hard for all small businesses at the moment but cutting corners and still charging inflated prices isn't the way to survive, it wasn't very busy and tbh I can see why but if you are failing and your enthusiasm for what you do has gone then perhaps the time has arrived to let go and walk away. I would have passed my feelings on to a member of staff if they had bothered to ask if everything was OK but they didn't and after paying over £40 for the experience a goodbye or thankyou would have been nice but sadly this didn't happen. I work in the food and drink sector and know what standards should be in place regarding customer service and unfortunately this place falls short on all of it.

Waited ages for a menu. Coffee was warm not hot. We sat on a small table outside that was seated for 4 people. When the food came the plates didn’t all fit on the table, instead we all had to have them hanging over the table. We asked if two of us could move to another table and was told we couldn’t (there were lots of empty tables). We all had an English Breakfast. Was basic but edible. Sauces offered were Aldi own brand in the bottles. Paid £8.90 for one egg, 2 x bacon, one sausage, one slice of toast and small spoonful of beans. When we asked if we could pay separately by card the owner said they were too busy and suggested one of us pay and then transfer each other the money. Definitely style over substance. Would not return.

The staff at this seaside cafe were lovely and attentive, but the food didn't match up. My partner's halloumi salad was sparse and lacked dressing, almost as if the dish was thrown together as an afterthought. The pita bread was probably straight out from the packet, it would've been nice if it was toasted or heated. As for my burger, it was disappointingly small and overwhelmed by a heavy, sweet sauce. In comparison, I've had much more substantial and better-tasting burgers at upscale restaurants for the same price. While the staff did their best, the food was a letdown. We won't be returning.

Shocking service. Waited for about 10 minutes with staff passing by and not shown to a table, asked staff twice and still no table. IT was not due to a lack of staff, I saw at least 4 faffing about, moving tables, moving umbrellas. Gave up in the end and when to the Bulls Head around the corner, and highly recommend anyone looking at this joke of a place does the same.

As we sadly discovered on arrival, that our hotel did not offer breakfast, we were forced to find somewhere else, to eat breakfast on our two days in Margate... One that was recommended by the hotel staff, wasn't really our cup of tea, as it didn't offer what we would call a Full, English Breakfast. We therefore walked back into town, and the Harbour Café was the first one we came across. We absolutely loved the menu, the whole look of the place, and the staff were charming, and extremely tolerant of me wanting a weird mixture of stuff. The quality of the actual breakfast was fantastic, and we actually tried to go back the next day (on a Wednesday), but for some reason, it was closed when we got there at about 10 to 10... (The website says they're open at 9am on a Wednesday, but closed on Thursday, so maybe they'd changed their hours, as it was because there'd been a Bank Holiday on the Monday?) We were very disappointed, as we would happily have eaten there again. We can't recommend it too highly!
