A beautiful vintage Hotel with great food. The staff are friendly and the features of this Hotel are subtle but resounding. The original draw Gate lift is wonderful but doesn't compare to having breakfast outside on the terrace amongst real flowers . We'll done to everyone at this marvelous Hotel.

Very comfortable stay bed comfortable fan in the room that was needed on a day with temperatures mid 30s. Lovely outside veranda for early evening drinks or breakfast which was excellent good choice of cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheeses as well as great selection of fried breakfast. A couple of small points that stopped me giving full stars shower no power and no towels in the room on arrival.

Such a beautiful quirky hotel, the breakfast is lush, rooms are comfy and the old retro lift is a beautiful unique feature too, dog friendly is an extra bonus, lovely staff. And the walpole bay tidal pool is so lovely and refreshing and only a few steps away. Wish I booked a longer stay.

Amazing hotel although does need some renovation. It is also a museum. The style is old-fashioned and it's nice, especially the lift. The service is very good and food/drink excellent. Nice location close to the beach but a little far from the old town/train station. You'd have to get a taxi. Room was a good size with balcony and all the facilities you'd expect however the internet was slow and the hot water took a long time to come on. It was hard to get a good temperature. Fans were provided which was needed in the heatwave. Check-out is 11am which is nice.

Stopped in for a cream tea. Very well renovated and took you back to simpler days. Good service, nice tea and great strawberries. Warm scones too. Yummy.

What a find. One of the best hotels we have ever found.Perched on the top of chalk cliffs with sea bathing pool nearby. From check in to departure we were treated as VIPs.The family who own it and the staff who work there are all exceptional.Jane our hostess even toik the time to provide a personal tour of the Snooker room(pink baise!) and ballroom. The Napkin Art and collections of crockery etc add to the charm of it.Don't take my word for it, look it up online and BOOK it quickly as they are closing for the winter. Were we really only there 1 night, we must go back.

Excellent value for money. Booked B and B for two nights. From the moment you walk through the doors, the service is warm and welcoming. But it's the little things that are brilliant. They give you a typed copy of the best takeaways and restaurants in the area. When you return, they ask how it was, so those that are below par can be removed. If you have a takeaway, they will happily organise everything you need to eat in the restaurant! The veranda is a lovely space to sit and read or enjoy a cream tea. We had a round of sandwiches and lattes. Everything was delicious. Breakfast, everything you could want from a buffet breakfast. Beds were really comfy. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. If you need a hotel in Margate, teat yourself to The Warpole My husband loved looking at all the trinkets. The lift was brilliant and took you back to the old days.

Gorgeous verandah. Cute bar and eating area. Lots to see in terms of the 'museum and gallery' - this is items that are around the corridors on upper levels. Lots of random objects, great for nostalgia, great collection of items, from typewriters to old milk bottle adverts. Also fun to travel in the old lift!

On a wet Friday I took my Mum and we had a delightful Afternoon Cream Tea and a look around. When we came out the sun was shining. This is a wonderful way to spend a few hours and don't forget to slip back into memory lane.

Fantastic Hotel, felt transported in time. Lovely and friendly staff. 20 minutes walking from the town. 5 minutes from the beach. Highly recommend.

The Walpole Bay offers decadent charm, fabulous cream teas and friendly service, but the hot water taps in the ladies loo haven’t been working for months and it’s just not acceptable - it’s so unhygienic - especially as Covid19 lurks around every corner.
