Came in with family for the first time after hearing about the place through family and friends and it did not disappoint. We all absolutely enjoyed everything. So stuffed by the end we had to take a few thing home. Staff were amazing. Will definitely be back again.

Booked through open table for a 4 o’clock table waited at the bar for 10 mins told them we had a booking at 4 was put on a table in a corner 6ft from the bar (when the place was about a 3rd full ) .waited ages to be served in the end I went to bar myself . Sunday roast was ok then we was waiting for some to come and take our dessert order after being told someone was on there way over,in the end went to the bar stood there for 5 mins while all the staff were chatting, in the end a regular I presume came walking in straight away the staff served him and totally walked past me !! Then came and asked if I wanted to order a dessert.i told them “no I’m just here for my health “.shocking service won’t be stopping here again ,and to top it off got an email 2 hours later saying they’ve cancelled my booking on open table it’s comical lol

Popped in yesterday (6 of us) very welcoming, nice atmosphere, staff were good as was the food. Two juniors thoroughly enjoyed sausage & mash & burger & chips, very good size portions. Ribs, pies, scampi & adult burger with chips / mash / veg were well cooked and very tasty. Very busy but plenty of time from staff for us. Toilets were clean & tidy. Weather wasn’t great but outside looked lovely, we would go again.
We had a really lovely visit to The Moody Mare recently, the first of many I hope. Great staff and a really good selection of drinks. The most incredible aspect of the pub is the building. The atmosphere is really special and history is truly worth hearing about. The team have managed to keep both the important historical features but add some unique features, such as the teepees at the back of the pub.

Only popped in for a quick drink, but what a lovely pub! And the tipi tent out the back is amazing! Will return when the sun eventually comes out!

I was a bit wary as I had read very mixed reviews, but four of us went to the Moody Mare yesterday, and I have to say that I could not fault it. The staff, lovely, the service very good, and the food was very, very good. Pleasantly surprised and will be back.

Visited for Sunday lunch and food was very tasty when it arrived. Service was very slow & we had quite a long wait between each course. We had starters, mains, & desserts plus 2 x teas & coffees, but had to remind staff for extra drinks. The raspberry pavlova definitely needed more raspberries or a coulis to give it more taste. The pub was busy, but the service didn't get better as the pub emptied. It was difficult to park in the car park as there must have been 60+ cars parked when we arrived, & we ended up double parking.Parking: Large car park, but there is nowhere else to park. Ended up parking where staff park otherwise there was nothing available.
