First time visitor to Alison's and it's not got to be over forty years since I went to King George VI park, so we didn't really know what to expect on our Easter dog walk. The problem we find is that cafés cover a very broad spectrum! While this might be a humble take away cafe, the menu is very good, the chocolate cake was amazing, and even a simple bacon baguette used decent thick bacon, and nice bread. There was a good range of genuine, homemade cakes, and a generous wedge of cake and a mug of tea was just £4, and add in the bacon baguette and another tea, and packet of bikkies for the boy, and it came to a tenner. Brilliant value and excellent service from people who know how to treat customers. We will return!

I stumbled on this cafe by chance on a walk and it is unassuming and affordable with friendly staff and plenty of character. My impression was they had quite a lot of regular customers (it is, after all, out of season as I write this!) and it felt lively but welcoming. The menu is varied and well priced and the servings are generous. All in all, it's a bit of a hidden gem.

Their Mr Whippy ice-cream is the best. Tastes like it should and not pumped full of air.

Nice little refreshments the only thing is it's cash only and I don't always carry cash anymore

Came down from London for the day. Had Sausage, egg and chips and a cup of tea. Really delicious and a generous plate of food for £5:50, if you’re in the area stop by. Service was quick with a smile, it was a lively atmosphere, but to be expected during summer holidays. Returned for an ice cream in the afternoon. Thankyou for a smashing meal, I hope to return again one day. ??Vegetarian options: Good to see a Vegetarian option

A lovely family run business with very friendly, helpful staff. The cafe is in King George V1 Park, near Victoria Street and faces the cliff and sea views. The picnic benches sit on the grass with sun shades and windbreaks so children and dogs may play safely nearby. They serve everything from tea and biscuits, coffee and cake, main meals, soft drinks and ice cream. They cater for everyone from vegans to dogs. There's also a block of toilets handy too.Cross the field and you come to the playground and plenty of space for all. Please be careful near the cliff edge and remember to take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints.

If you want a cappuccino coffee from a sachet and a double expresso made with two spoons of instant coffee….I do not have a problem with it if we had been warned about it instead of pretending being the real thing. So, from my perspective a big lack of honesty and clarity with clients. I will never come back.

Great place to rest, with good food and drink, not to mention the wonderful ice cream.Parking: Can be difficult to park close to the entrance at busy times
