The zero to food is simply that they might only have some simple quick fare or, as in our last visit, someone had taken in some fish and chips (and shared around excess chips). We always leave cheerful even if they do close rather early.

Very pleasant town centre micropubwith outside seating at the backin summer. Usually at least 4 ales from varying independent breweries. Snacks are sometimes available. Very popular meat raffle on Sunday afternoon. There is also a weekly bonus ball draw with numbers drawn randomly from a bag

Excellent beer from small local breweries tapped from the cask. Unfortunately a few too many super weak (sub 4%) beers. They did have some stronger stouts (4.8, 6.4) on tap but nothing resembling a New England IPA.

Quiet night ...its in the 2023 Good beer guide... mid week so only a couple of casks on.. week worth a visit. I now know where the Hovelling Boat name was derived from... pulling in beach launched fishing boats which are unable to get out of the surf.
