We have relatives in Hythe and St Mary's Bay and visited Newchurch House on and off for years, it's strange that I've not thought of writing a review before but on this occasion our intended party of 4 was suddenly reduced to half due to illness. Rather than let them down and cancel the table with only a couple of hours notice we invited our neighbours to make the 45 minute trip with us and surprise Michelle and Daisy (waitress of 8 years) with different guests. We chose 4 different drinks, 4 different starters, 4 different mains oh and 3 different desserts. As always we were made to feel welcome and served in a lightly jovial but totally efficient manner with freshly cooked nice meals and all parts were declared delicious during the return journey. I see some comments about dated, yes I suppose it is but I'd prefer to call it comforting, one of those places you discover and ask yourself why it's taken so long. Our neighbours have vowed to return sometime soon and we certainly will.

Been driving past this restaurant for years and last night finally had a meal there. Wow, the food was amazing and ridiculously cheap. We are returning New Year's Eve, for goodness knows how many courses, including steak with lobster for just £37. This place has got to be the Marsh's best kept secret

Money is tight for me and my partner when I saw this restaurant offers a 2 course lunch on a Friday for £10 and happened to have the week off I booked. I had already explored the menu on their website I was shocked at the choices you can have for such good value! My boyfriend opted for prawn cocktail and a beef bourgignon and Stilton pie with roast potatoes and veg while I had a spicy chicken on a homemade flat bread with mint yoghurt starter then a beautiful homemade lamb hot pot! We both had a beer but a great range of beers wines and spirits are available! Everything was delicious and mostly homemade great service! We will be back

First time at Newchurch House Restaurant, and we will definitely be returning. The food was nicely presented and very tasty. Service was friendly, and the tables were well spaced. Overall, a great lunch.

I came along today with my family to have a roast which had been recommended by a few friends. To say we were shocked with the food and service is an understatement! We first walked in and felt as if we weren’t welcome, she sat us down and asked us what we would like to drink… they didn’t give us a menu! My dad asked the older lady what the white fish was and she just made him feel stupid by saying ‘white fish’ which was quite obvious…? The food that was served up was absolutely awful! We had finished our drinks and was waiting for them to come round and ask if we wanted any drinks, we were sat there for a very long time till my dad went to the bar and asked if we could order some drinks… they even got that wrong! We got home disappointed with the whole overall experience. We rang the restaurant to speak to the owner and she dismissed us again, she clearly doesn’t care. We were so excited to try somewhere new but wow we were shocked and very very disappointed, rude owner and made to feel completely unwelcome from the moment we walked through the door, no atmosphere only a bad one! I won’t be returning or recommending your business to others!!

Sunday lunchstarters were nice, and love the feel of the place.Roast dinner was poor, potato's and Yorkshire pudding Aunt Bessie's we think. Frozen veg.Roast pork tasted like it had been cooked in old cooking oil in fact all you could taste was the oil.Deserts were not much better.

Another lads Friday lunch, 16th September, at Newchurch House restaurant and once again as always, never disappointed. The food is always excellent and served with a chat and a smile. A real treasure in the countryside. Thanks again to all at Newchurch House for a great meal, will be back again soon.
