The Star reopened on Saturday 24th March 2024 following a refurbishment. Pub looks great, kitchen to reopen very soon.Welcome back to an old favourite and what now looks like the best pub on the Marsh!

The location is brilliant, if you can find it that is. That’s the only positive. It’s like walking into jumangi. It’s ridiculous for a public house. It stinks of dogs doo doo.The rats running around is another subject.4 real ale pumps but not enough be of them on. Young bar maid was drunk and rude, constantly out smoking and ignoring customers. The place needs a clean and some air fresheners and just some looking after. It’s awful

What a wonderful experience from walking in to a lovely atmosphere to being greeted by such friendly staff. Our Sunday roast was delicious all freshly cooked the vegetables made to perfection with lovely roast potatoes followed by sticky toffee pudding. None of the food could be criticised. The staff all family are on it with first rate customer service but not over the top. I also understand they do take outs delivering this lovely food to the locals. It was so refreshing to go somewhere so friendly with everything in place. I could not recommend The Star more if I tried. Will definitely use again.

We had the pleasure of visiting this lovely pub yesterday whilst on holiday. We all had a roast dinner and they were lovely, they even brought out a small plate of food for our fussy 7 year old to try and gave her a small bowl of custard on the house, when we had a pudding which was also very nice! The staff were so lovely and nothing was to much trouble they were great hosts and very attentive. We also had the bonus of a great singer that we were not expecting, he was really good and everyone was having the best time, thank you Star Inn.

Friendly staff with good range of beers in a tiny quiet village right next to a beautiful 900 year old church. The bar lady Sue was very welcoming and I had the best roast dinner of my entire life courtesy of their new chef Kieran. Thanks and we’ll come back soon.

Stop by as not seen this pub before and was really nice and relaxing. Plenty space for kids to play although play equipment needs to be fixed up. Nice views and hope to return again soon to eat.

On my way home from cycling the British Isles. Gale force wind kept me from proceeding to Dover. The landlord allowed me to pitch my tent on their ground for 2 nights. Despite not serving breakfast, I got free coffee in the morning. Very friendly staff. Best hospitality received apart from family and friends in the UK. Thank youFood & drinks: Loved the Meat Feast Pizza from their pizza oven. Good selection of alesNoteworthy details: The author Edith Nesbit is buried on the church grounds here in St. Mary on the Marsh.

I love the location of this pub. It’s out in the county side with a big outdoor grass area with seating where kids can run around.Limited amount of drinks and food is reasonable.
