*Update on previous review below*Sad to say that I hadn't been back to the Drum since my last review which was during Covid.Today we decided to visit again. The pub is literally on our doorstep, yet for no known reason we always seem to go elsewhere, The Drum doesn't seem to be on our radar, but today four of us stopped by for some lunch and oh my, it was absolutely superb!I had Clams in a garlic and spring onion jus with a side order of fries. Others in the party had filled Ciabatta's and fries and my Mum had the Scotch Bonnet, garlic prawns. All of which were cooked to perfection and served beautifully. The bar man/waiter was so friendly and was genuinely happy to serve us. The food here is a major step up from the usual pub grub and a high percentage is home made. Please, please make time to visit this gem of a place. I have learnt my lesson and we will definitely be back soon.My husband and I have just returned home from having a meal at the Drum Inn in Stanford. They are not doing the Government half- price meals but that didn't matter to us as we just wanted to go somewhere different. The location is really nice and the place this evening was buzzing, clearly it is somewhere on the map for local motorbike clubs, as well as being a listed camp site. The staff were really friendly and they have worked hard in putting social distancing measures in place; the pub itself was spotless and we cannot wait to revisit in the near future.

Excellent food, fine old pub building too, food was a bit slow to come out of kitchen (but I reckon they were very busy). You wouldn’t expect much from a pub in the middle of nowhere just off the M20 by the ‘Stop 24’ truck stop. You’d be wrong. Clearly it’s a local restaurant not a destination, but instead of heading for ‘Stop 24’ on your way to the Channel Tunnel you’ll get a better meal at a decent price for the price of a five minute diversion if you’ve got some time to kill. I’ll go again.

We had Christmas dinner at the Drum Inn and would highly recommend. The food was absolutely wonderful. Beautifully cooked and despite how incredibly busy they were, the food was hot, service was fab and a super menu choice. Amazing - very much deserving 5*’s!!

Get the steak! I'm sure all the food is just as good though. Very friendly, professional. If you like a proper pub with a log fire then this is the one. Also they have a cracking campsite.

Stayed one night for stopover after getting off the ferry at Dover. What a gem of a place this is. The camping area is peaceful in a country setting with all the facilities you need. Felt really safe at night and had a good nights sleep. The food in the pub was excellent and everyone was very welcoming, also dog friendly. The Drum Inn will definitely be our go-to site for a stopover for the ferry or the tunnel. So easy to get to from the motorway.

Great stopover with the van before the Tunnel. We didn't eat this time so can't comment but the pub looked lovely. Unfortunately the showers were broken the day we were there - but I think that was just one of these things - they looked fine! The field was completely full with motorhomes and they had all gone before 7.30 for early crossings.

Just an update - another lovely lunch at the Drum. The service was excellent. It is exceptional when things are noticed and assistance offered over and above the standard. Thank you.Lovely cosy country pub. Welcoming and friendly. Good menu and frequent specials. In the summer I have known to go just for one of their homemade ice creams ?
