40 or so years ago this chippy was known as the West End. It was my go to location after spending the evening swimming (mucking about) in the old swimming pool in St.Michael's road. It was small then, but nothing could come close to their battered sausage and chips as I walked home. Jump forward to 2022, the chippy is no bigger, prices have increased, the name has changed to Ossie's but the food remains the same. It still tastes amazing and the portions are still large. This has to be the best fish and chips for miles around! We visited on a cold December day but had the warmest of welcomes. The fish was cooked to order and had the crispiest batter. We ordered medium cod and chips and the portions were very generous. We will definitely be back!

Freshly cooked fish and chips.Not greasy, nice and crispy batter.Shop was very clean and staff were friendly only one down side it was cash only so had to dash to the cash machine whilst food was cooked.Recomend without a doubt.
