From start to finish it was a bit of a debacle.I emailed a couple of days before asking some questions, as yet I still have not had a reply.I booked the £254 deal to include bed and breakfast,a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine and balfour flight boards for my partners 40th and when you only earn national minimum wage £254 is a massive amount. We did get a warm welcome from Alex and after having a drink we were shown to our room.We chilled for a while on the bed to then find the sheet and mattress protector wouldn't stay on the bed,it was because a duvet cover had been used as the bottom sheet,so it only covered the top surface and wouldn't tuck in anywhere. The stains on the mattress protector were awful too.We went down for dinner at 7pm(booked previously) We were the only ones in the restaurant, but still waited 45mins for our starter,my partners was missing a puree and butternut squash. Then a couple were seated for their wedding taster menu, they had dish after dish arrive, served by the chef explaining what everything was.No acknowledgment of our being there waiting. Our mains eventually came and the pea puree was ice cold,I would guess straight from the fridge,my chicken luke warm, the hock bon bons cold, but the potato was good.My partners burger was alright.Alex came to apologise to us for the delay and standard and said the bottle of wine would be on the house,so I had to explain it was part of the deal I had paid for,I at that point asked for our balfour flights,we didn't get them. For dessert i wanted espresso brulee and my partner the baileys bread n butter pudding,we couldnt have them, but we were given a platter type dessert with some tartlets and sorbet. Asked again for the balfour flights,of which we then received. Alex did give my partner 2 pints to say sorry for the charade and later on gave me a bottle of wine,so he knew how bad it all was.He also put candles in the platter which was nice of him,but by then we had had enough.Breakfast was amazing.Would we go back, absolutely not.We don't have phones at dinner,so sadly could not document any of it, did get the bed stains though.

We've been here 3 time now and every time the food has been extremely outstanding. Staff members are absolutely brilliant. Very Polite. And very funny ? . The price for the menu is well worth it. Thank you. We will see you next Sunday

7 of us visited for lunch as part of a wine tour so all meals had been pre-ordered. My fish and chips was very unsatifactory, the fish itself was tiny however the worst thing everything served on a cold plate so food only just warm, the pea puree served in a side pot was also barely warm...didn't even try the watery looking curry sauce served the same way just not my thing. Another guest in our party didn't even get proper chips with her minuscule fish instead was served "fries" another guest who ordered a fish finger sandwich wasn't very happy as that was also only just warm ..the whole experience was quite yuk! When I mentioned the heat problem to the young person serving us he did offer to take it back to the kitchen for reheating. .I declined as we were on a tour and only had limited time for lunch. For sure if I had just gone with my hubby I would have really complained and sent it away. Don't know if the Wine Tour company pay full price for taking people there, if they do certainly need to change their venue for lunch as our experience not good....certainly would never return....

The pub itself is very charming. The service was quite quick. However the food wasn't great. Tomato bruschetta was terrible - cold untoasted bread with cold and finely chopped tomatoes and onions mix on top is not a bruschetta. Would give this dish 0 stars. The fish finger sandwich was nice, albeit not properly seasoned. We haven't tried the mains, which might have been better prepared, but if you want a nice light lunch I would look elsewhere.

Very nice hotel with only 4 rooms. A very, very old building with slanted floors and doors. The bar area can be a bit noisy, but it's quiet for a good night's sleep. Dog-friendly. They even offered us a charging option for our Tesla.Delicious breakfast, suitable for vegetarians as well.

The service was great friendly the food was really nice...thought the sides were a bit over the top on price...( bar snacks ).The room was fine the only thing was the bath had not been washed out...had to do that myself... but the bathroom must been seen ....take your skies ....but that is apart of staying in history.....

The staff here are so good at their jobs. Nothing was too much trouble. The menu was even adapted to accommodate my needs. Thank you to all. I would recommend this place if you want a clean cosy caring pub visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lot of miscommunication with my booking was told id have to move rooms after one night when I rang in advance and was told everything was all set and ready for when i got there then got a room that I didn't want at all and didn't like when it was booked the next day so i said ill take the next best room but gave me the one i least wanted so im in the loft and its not what i expected compared to the other rooms as pictures described. Staff was lovley and atentive.

Room was lovely, clean and very spacious but a loud fan kicked in regularly throughout the night and it is right next door to church and the bells chime every hour so didnt get much sleep

Simond-seat

Stayed for two nights Bed and Breakfast. Double with ensuite overlooking the church. Very comfortable stay, lovely staff, excellent breakfast! Great position to explore Tenterden, Vineyards & Rye. Dog friendly too.

We booked a last minute Sunday evening meal at the Woolpack. The staff were welcoming, really efficient and the food was fabulous. We even stayed on for live music and a bit of dancing! Great atmosphere, lovely staff and great food.
