The Mount Edgcumbe was the venue for our walking group's Christmas Meal. Eleven of us sat down to an excellent meal with enough choices to satisfy everyone in the group. The staff were very friendly and the service was both efficient but unobtrusive, which all helped to make our meal a great success. We will definitely look to book again.

Had a lovely long Sunday lunch with my friend and family. Food was as always really good. We all had roast chicken which was fabulous. Really delicious and As always service was brilliant and Kasia who served our table was particularly attentive and made our experience or the more enjoyable. Thank you to you all. ?

Nice service, good food and super ambience. Christmas lunch was great, nice Primitivo wine, and cheese board without goats cheese :) Thanks, Charlotte and Rachel

This is such a special hotel. It is beautifully decorated, very comfortable, clean and well run. The restaurant is wonderful with very friendly and professional staff. The breakfast is probably one of the best I have ever had. Would 100% recommend and in fact will look for reasons to stay again myself.

Enjoyed a delicious Saturday evening dinner in one of the private rooms upstairs. Food was excellent! Service (we were looked after by Edward and Magda) was exemplary!! Second time we have done this during 2023 and both times truly excellent in every respect. Can highly recommend.

We had our work's Christmas Lunch there this week. From initial enquiry to the day itself, the service and staff were very helpful. The food was served efficiently and politely and everyone who attended complimented the quality of the food and the table and decoration. It was the perfect location for a large meal and the lovely relaxed atmosphere ensured nobody really wanted to leave when they had to!

We had a wonderful experience for our team Christmas meal. It was our first time visiting and the private dining room, the food and the service was wonderful. I thoroughly recommend it. Especial thanks to Magda for looking after us so well

We had a lovely family dinner at The Mount Edgcumbe this weekend in a private upstairs dining room. The pub was warm and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food on the Christmas set menu was delicious; particular favourites were the roast turkey dinner with much appreciated generous portions of gravy and the cranberry & apple crumble. The service by Charlotte and Edward was impeccable: they were friendly and welcoming; the food was served promptly with perfect intervals between courses; and they made sure that no one ran out of a drink and we had everything we wanted. Highly recommended - we will definitely be back!

We arrived at 8.31 p.m. only to be told that the kitchen closed at 8.30 p.m. I was shocked. The waitress said she would go and ask the chef, but the answer came back a firm no! Having given our custom to this establishment over so many years, I was disappointed to find out that they were prepared to turn us away so easily. We had to go along the road to the Royal Wells Inn - who also said the kitchen closed at 8.30 p.m. but here, the waitress went to ask the chef who said as long as we ordered promptly there was no problem. A very different attitude!

Well I feel like a parrot to write a similar review again but it has to be done. I booked a table for a business lunch and as always the service was impeccable from the greeting on arrival to the service of drinks and food to the after service and discretion given by all members of staff while we discussed things. We even had a personal hello from the General Manager!! Valentin Ostafi your front and back of house teams excelled once again for which I applaud you, they do you 100% credit, not just today but on every time I visit. I would not like to mention people as would not want to forget anyone. Well done "Team Edgcumbe"

Booked a last minute 1 night break. The hotel itself from outside doesn’t do the place justice. Inside is a lovely charming bar/restaurant with a cosy cave area to relax in. We stayed in room 1 which was a superior room with large window and a roll top bath in the bedroom, well equipped room with a very nice bathroom and powerful shower. There was a small problem with the heating but this was quickly rectified by the manager. We booked the restaurant for dinner as the weather was awful so didn’t want to go out again and so glad we did. The food we ate was amazing, every single course was delicious as was the breakfast the next morning. The owners are building a new outside area which will be complex for next summer so we will definitely return. Takes about 15 mins to walk into the high street and Pantiles area but very steep hills all around. There’s some lovely wooded areas around the hotel too but a bit too wet for winter walks this weekend. If we didn’t live over an hour away we’d be in that restaurant frequently!

How refreshing!! To receive Great service from friendly and knowledgeable staff. There to celebrate a birthday - Everything was exceptional - From the kindness when making the reservation, to the treat for the dog as we left. The food was fantastic, as well as the wonderful wine list. Bravo ? It made our evening extra special & for that I am very grateful. We would highly recommend.

Wow, what a pub. Outstanding service, outstanding food, excellent service, staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive, one even trotted over with a sample of one of their real ales that he thought I might like after chatting about them - I did. Superb range of drinks, it's comfortable and they even have "the cave," a fantastic, intimate little area with thick, comfy sofas to chill in. Prices were reasonable, and as I say, the food was absolutely superb and brought out quickly. This is honestly one of the best pubs I've ever had the pleasure to visit, I can't really recommed it highly enough!

Husband took me for lunch for my birthday. Greeted by 2 glasses of fizz which was a lovely touch. Great menu - really hard to choose. Lamb liver pate followed by chicken and veg pie. OH had the burger which was enormous. Food was very fresh and absolutely delicious. Finished off with an affogato outside as it was such a warm day. Thanks for a lovely meal.
