We visited ID as a family group of 7 for my husband’s birthday and had a brilliant time. The food was superb, the restaurant was buzzing, the staff were attentive and we couldn’t fault anything. The advice about how much food to order given by the Chinese waiter was spot on! We have another family birthday in September - we’ll definitely be back!

Worse than average when it used to be the best Chinese around , anemic sweet and sour, chewy beef with zero oyster sauce, dry dumplings with no sauce, I could go on, such a shame as a once great restaurant becomes another really poor excuse for a chinese....

First time I had ordered as a takeaway from ID Chinese in West Malling, probably one of the worst Chinese takeaways we’ve had.The chicken balls were so hard and dry we could hardly cut through them, the chicken in the chow mein was not tender at all, prawn toast was horrible, the only good thing was the spring rolls, the rest was terrible.I’m not sure if this was just because it was a takeaway as I have heard such good reviews about this restaurant.

We decided to book the restaurant for a family of 4 for a meal. 3 years prior I enjoyed a meal there alone. Clearly in 3 years has something seriously gone wrong! After being seated on a laid table, I noticed the plates were filthy, looking like they were purchased from a car boot sale after a house clearance which I immediately mentioned to the waiter. The waiter changed the plates which were the same quality! The Chinese waiter took our oder for starters including mains. He was clearly rushing as well. Shortly after the starters came out. Presentation was of poor standard. The taste was of mild burnt flavour, everything ordered tasted the same, leaving a horrible taste. Finally we could not accept anymore of the poor service. The waiter deducted 1 sides and charged the rest. However not fussed or it was certainly not our intentions to experience such a poor service including quality. Clearly all the positive reviews are fake or even fabricated internally. I would certainly not recommend wasting time or energy busting this place, wasting quality family time and money! Massive no! Sorry.

It’s such a nice surprise to find such a lovely Chinese restaurant as a tourist in West Malling. We ordered a set menu and the quality of food was good, not greasy and very flavorful. The prawn toast was jam packed with filling, soft fall off the bone ribs and really good satay prawn sizzler. The stir fried bean sprouts and mange tout not easy to keep the vegetables nice and crisp. Lovely service - the staff was very polite, friendly and hard working. Looking forward to coming back again when we are back in the area.

We use to love this restaurant great service and great food, but definitely gone down the pan! All about the money, no service, forget orders and don’t seem to care, we don’t mind paying high prices for quality as a lot of people but we now get better from a local delivery take away. It is a shame, only hope they read the reviews and learn and bring it back! It’s steadily gone down hill over the past 6 years and getting worse in my opinion
