Taylors Ln, Trottiscliffe, West MallingBowley’s at The Plough is without doubt one of the best restaurants and best pubs in Kent. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere, service and attention to detail were exceptional.
The food was outstanding throughout, with incredible flavours in every dish, but the red mullet was truly unforgettable and one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Everything felt thoughtful, beautifully balanced and expertly cooked.
Alex, Grace and the whole team are so warm and attentive, and it’s clear how passionate they are about creating something community-focused and sustainable. The commitment to serving entirely British food and drink made the experience even more special and really showcased just how amazing local produce can be when it’s treated with care and creativity.
The Nyetimber tasting event was also incredibly special, and it was wonderful to see two British brands working together so seamlessly to celebrate the very best of British food and drink.
Bowley’s is doing something genuinely special, and it’s exactly the kind of ethos more restaurants should be embracing. Already looking forward to coming back.

Great that no nuts are served in the pub and the staff were so careful and checked all ingredients on an app. Highly recommend for anyone with allergies (and without)

47 Swan St, West Malling£35 for two glasses of wine and five dishes is phenomenal value and a fab place to pop in midweek to socialise with friends or for a date night. The bar menu is exciting and skilfully executed, with each mouthful balanced to perfection and generously portioned (for the price). Thank you to all the front-of-house team for your help and attentive service, and to your amazing chefs, your hard work was very much appreciated. It was a wonderful memorable evening, thank you to you all.

Great choice real ales, lagers and ciders. Open all day Thursdays through Sundays. Mondays to Wednesdays opens 4pm. Excellent brunch style menu at reasonable prices. At moment food available all day Thursday/Friday & on Saturday 5-9pm. Hopefully they will extend to all day Saturdays at sometime & maybe bring back Sunday food which they did at one time.

The staff were so professional, friendly, and attentive, making us feel really welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The Farm House
High St, West MallingVery lively pub/restaurant offering good food and a good choice of wines and spirits. It's in the middle of the historic town West Malling where there is off street parking and a car park at the rear of a Tesco which is almost opposite. West Malling has a variety of shops and restaurants and lots of places to visit that are of historical interest, plus Manor Park which is great for all the family to visit.

Fish was really crispy with a light batter = WHY CAN'T MORE PUBS DO THIS. Juicy korean chicken burger, crunchy chips. Just really solid all round.

35 Swan St, West MallingI’ve visited The Swan in West Malling three times now and overall it’s always been a really nice place to go. The atmosphere is great with very good vibes, and it’s somewhere that feels welcoming and comfortable each time I’ve been.
On my first visit the food was amazing and really impressed me. However, on the last two occasions it was just okay and unfortunately didn’t quite live up to the standard I experienced the first time, especially considering the prices they charge.
That said, the staff are always lovely, friendly and very welcoming, which makes a big difference to the overall experience. The place is also consistently very clean and well kept.
I’d definitely still come back because the atmosphere and service are great, but I do hope the food returns to the same high standard as my first visit.

15 High St, West MallingWe visited for the first time and had a very enjoyable lunch. Manta was excellent explaining dishes to us and it was really good to hear that many of the ingredients came directly from Thailand.
We both enjoyed the starters of fish cakes, dumplings and wrapped prawns. We followed this with crispy Thilapia fish with chilli, garlic and basil and pork with sweet and sour sauce, both were excellent. Manta recommended the pandang and coconut pudding which was amazing and worth all the effort it took her to make it.

High St, West MallingVisited Frank's as a pre-booked party of 8 for a joint special occasion yesterday (28/02) and we were not disappointed. Service, ambience, food and even the cocktails were absolutely spot on and I couldn't fault a thing. Our waitress was fantastic and so attentive. Food was enjoyed but everyone, we ordered a variety of steaks, mussels and lobster, as well as starters and desserts - we're already planning our next visit!

2 Little E, East Malling, West MallingAn impromptu visit recently with my children but was unknowingly in the window between breakfast & lunch. The server was very helpful and made me a ham salad sandwich as after the walk from East Malling I didnt have much time.
The Fresh loaves of bread on sale were great value & the selection of cakes very tempting
Would recommend better signage on foot as I walked the whole way round following the road signs not realising it was in the middle of the buildings

I still have not found another pub that keeps the Harveys Best bitter so well - if you still need convincing to come here they have an outstanding chef who has converted me to pies amongst many other things. The landlord and team behind the bar are relaxed and welcoming. They always have fires in the winter. I cannot think of a better pub if I’m honest.
