Enjoyed our stay here over the Easter weekend. We had the isabella room which is facing the road. It can get a little noisy from the road but with ear plugs it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was delicious and a wide choice to pick from

Really enjoyable meal and atmosphere - had a really lovely evening and would definitely return. I am vegetarian- so would be fab to see a couple more vegi options but literally couldn’t fault anything about the experience from start to finish ?

Great ambience with plenty of light where our table was yesterday 14.4.23. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Food which was well thought out was absolutely delicious - a delight to the eye and palate. Will definitely recommend to family and friends?

What a great find! Had a one night stay and dinner when on a road trip. Lovely room with comfy bed, great bath and shower and all amenities. Despite being above restaurant and on the street it was very peaceful and we had a great sleep. Enjoyed a lovely dinner, good menu choices and delicious crab, mackerel, lamb and sole. Puddings fab. Then had an amazing breakfast this morning. A really great restaurant with rooms which we would highly recommend.

This was an amazing hotel doing amazing food. I had an awesome weekend away. The room was well decorated, clean, and absolutely amazing. The quality of the food blew me away. The only downside of this amazing hotel and restaurant is no parking. Because I was only there 1 night, I could park in the village centre (5 mins walk), but any longer would require moving car. It would be worth it and I am returning

We ate here and also stayed overnight. We found the food excellent and the staff just the right amount of attentive, intelligent and charming — they have obviously had great training. Breakfast was fantastic too.As other reviewers have stated, the food is quite expensive, but so’s everything these days, and we’re more than happy to support a lovely independent restaurant. On the other hand, if anything we thought our room was underpriced! Every single detail had been carefully considered. It was comfortable, beautifully decorated and included great extra touches, such as home baked cookies and local liqueur in the mini bar. We have stayed in boutique hotels twice this price that were nowhere near as pristine and well appointed.Big thanks to all the team!

Fine dining without the fine. We arrived early, and were shown to our table - two of us sharing a booth that could have seated six - obviously not busy.Where could things go wrong? Our wine appeared during starters, but matched to our mains, hiding the taste of my delicate starter - scallops & confit chicken with cauliflower in various guises. Looked nice, but chicken was completely dry, although skin deliciously crisp. Mrs had heritage beetroot - the only colour was from what looked & tasted like normal beetroot, welcome against the beige other slices. Tasted nice though.Ours mains were slow cooked lamb, with polenta, shallots and salsa verde. All was nice, but if you like vegetables with your main, you need to add sides. The beef dripping cooked chips were lovely - although should be called roast potatoes for their irregular shapes. Carrots with salsa verde were nice, but some undercooked.Deserts were salted caramel with chocolate mousse for Mrs, Sticky Toffee pudding for me. Hers was lovely - but too sweet to follow the rich mains. Mine was lukewarm - both the pudding & sauce. Sent back, it arrived back hot, but barely covered in sauce, and the sponge now bone dry. The sauce, what I found, was meant to be rum flavoured - but not.We were seated by where the waitress station - lots hanging around, and rather confusing as to who was now serving us, as most seemed so bored, they all wanted too. Not that they were paying attention to us as customers, as were were asked if we wanted to pay twice. My dessert had 50% off as it had been sent back. We’ve only eaten in a few fine dining restaurants, and we cannot see any justification in they very very high prices. Fine dining in look, but a long way off fine in both taste, technique or service

Cant fault this place! Was absolutely spotless. Bed and pillows very comfy, breakfast was delicious and the owner and the staff were so lovely and obviously enjoy each others company as there was lots of laughter going on, which was such a pleasure to hear. Definitely going back! Only downside if I HAVE to find one, is parking is a challenge!
