As a party of 14 with 6 kids the initial starters came out quickly, however we waited nearly an hour for main courses by which time the kids were getting very restless. The main course for some of us was overcooked and dry , the kids pizzas were as hard as paving slabs. Then waited nearly an hour for dessert which was only ice cream.NOT THE FAULT OF THE WAITING STAFF as it was clear they were very understaffed. Very disappointed this is the 2nd poor experience with Beefeater so won't be using again.

Great service and food for our small group of 5. We were made to feel special by the staff and the service and food was very good. Lucy was our waitress and Dom was the Manager who also was excellent with his service and hospitality. I have no problems recommending this restaurant to my friends and family.

When the manager Sarah came over, I explained that the meal was disappointing as so many items were out of stock, she became defensive telling me that I had to be patient. When I tried to explain what was wrong, Sarah repeatedly interrupted me saying ‘thank you’ and laughing, which felt patronising. I then returned to my table and waited for another opportunity to talk to Sarah, but she was not interested in discussing the problems. She talked over me and laughed at me when I said that, as the manager, she should care about her customers. She wasn’t interested in listening or apologising.

We eat here a lot and never disappointed with food and service. As only 2 of us for Xmas Day decided to book. Whilst I can't fault the meal or service was disappointed with the area we were assigned to sit. Besides the till and cutlery drawer in constant use and besides fire exit. I appreciate staff are working during festivities but this was our Xmas evening. It was pretty chaotic with tables being moved for breakfast the next day and hoovering whilst we were still eating. Suggest you don't take bookings for 5pm,as we did,if it means customers feel rushed. Wouldn't book again at this time of year. Can't fault the staff though.

Had arranged to meet friends here for pre Christmas lunch, table booked for 12.30. On arrival there was no one visible either at the seating station, or behind the bar, after 10 minutes we were told from a voice behind a wall that somebody would be with us shortly. (Not a good start) Menus brought over, abruptly told 3 items off menu (so early in the day!!!!) Three Christmas Dinners and a plate of ribs. Cutlery almost thrown on table by far from happy waitress Meals brought out and waitress fingers were in the dinner, ughhh. 3 Christmas Dinners were luke warm, the three brussel sprouts on each plate, plust sliced carrots , were inedible, more like ammunition!!! And when we dare quiery the meal, we were abruptly told, its very difficult to get right you know !!!!!!. ....... thought we were in a restaurant !!!!! Unsatisfied, we still ordered dessert, mint sundae, biscof sundae, apple pie plus 1 more. Dessert sppoons thrown on table, desserts practically lobbed into position, where not only poorly presented, but certainly way smaller than previously experienced, and messy. Well, ........any festive vibes swiftly dissapoeared, our experience was so very disappointing (and expensive ) The chefs standaeds and waiting staff were awful, and having dined here many times before, will not be returning and neither will our guests who travelled far to join us.

Poor service, poor food - very disappointed. Used to be a great place to pop into for some good food but it's really run down now, even most of the furniture is worn and dated.

Booked a table for two 10.15am breakfast. All the food was stone cold. The left overs of the morning. The rude unpleasant manager Sarah was informed she refused to have fresh hot food brought out, Saying kitchen closed. Why take a booking at 10.15. if the kitchen will be closed. It was my birthday. My daughter as she arrived one minute late was not allowed to come in and sit with me with a birthday balloon and presents. As breakfast was finished . She did come in and sit with me no matter what. The manager stood there and glared at us. When we left my daughter spoke to the manager how awful it had been. She said you are not welcome back. This manager let's down the reputation of Beef eater. We were treated as the enemy and not as a customer. My birthday ruined by the treatment we received by the manager Sarah

Long reac??? Should be renamed long wait. After waiting 20 minutes to take our orders which wasn’t so bad, it was another 40 minutes before our drinks arrived (after the first complaint) 5 minutes later my meal arrived on its own then my granddaughters starters and for ten minutes nothing following another complaint we was told the food would be another 5 minutes I told them to take my food I’ll pay for drinks I wanted to go as it was my birthday and at that point would of rathered McDonald’s my party insisted I not walk out after 10 minutes and my wife giving the manager a telling off 4 waiters brought the food which was mediocre it wasn’t even busy and we wasn’t the only people unhappy with the service. Absolutely wouldn’t return or recommend it where’s the beefeater of old !

I'm not a lover of Groups but was arranged by friends we were meeting. Very nice lady greeted at seated us. But food I should have said something but everyone would have eating before I maybe would have got a replacement. Beer battere fish and chips. Mine came first then over 5 minutes before 2 more arrived. My batter was wet and soggy fish dry and tartar sauce in a dish had a skin over it. SO how long had it sat there.Only complement is the large chips we're very freshly cooked.I didn't want to make a fuss in front of my friends. Sorry for a negative review. The Disabled toilet door is very heavy to open.Wheelchair accessibility: Very good access

There was not enough fish on the menu!My husband likes rump steak and yo didn't do o that, he asked for his steak well done and it was medium. You also didn't have the drink I asked for - Southern Comfort.I'm afraid we will not be returning. All the time we were there all I could hear was your staff apologising to people over different things.

Staff, lovely. Food, lovely. But the interior desperately needs updating. Especially the chairs! Some were so poor!

It's a shame the interior is very poor and damaged. Chairs with foam on show and lots of stains. Only thing that made it worth while was the food was very good and a amazing waitress Jen serving. Could not ask for better service. Just let down by the poor interior which is really desperate for a revamp.
