The Rock Lodge
15-17 Oxford St, WhitstableVisited The Rock Lodge and had a really great experience. We ordered the charcuterie board, loaded fries, and frickles (deep-fried pickles), and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, well presented, and full of flavour.
The service was excellent — really friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble, which made the visit feel very relaxed and welcoming. It’s also dog friendly, which is always a big plus for us.
It was pre-season when we went, so it was nice and quiet with a very chilled atmosphere. Enjoyed a very good pint of Guinness too, which topped it all off.
Would definitely come back and highly recommend to anyone looking for good food, good service, and a relaxed place to stop.

Martin, the friendly host, on finding out that it was my wife’s birthday, brought over a delicious glass of port each to celebrate. A fantastic atmosphere, small and cosy, and perfect for a glass of wine or two!

I don't like scones much, but loved cheese and walnut scone there as well.
It's easy to miss this place, outside ut looks like a gift shop, but inside it hides those bakery delights. We will be back, notoriously.

The meat melts in your mouth and is seasoned perfectly great value for money lovely family atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. 4 High St, WhitstableFour of us ate here last night. The decor is stylish and the atmosphere is fab. Staff are lovely. We ordered Cod’s Roe, Padron peppers, Steak, Fish pie and Beetroot/whipped goats cheese and pumpkin seeds. It was all so tasty and so beautifully cooked and presented.
We were full but ordered a Tiramisu to share. I’m so pleased we did. It was out of this world delicious, really special. We drank Rosé and it was perfect. We can’t wait to come back.

13 High St, WhitstableHad such a lovely experience at Ala Turka. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour, but what really made the night stand out was the service. Shivani and Nikki were both amazing, so friendly, attentive, and made us feel really comfortable throughout. They checked in at the right times without being overbearing, and their recommendations were spot on.
You can tell they genuinely care about the guests, which makes a huge difference. Will definitely be coming back!

Oxford St, WhitstableBest meal in whitstable for a long time, took my Nan here for her birthday and the service an food was amazing these people know their stuff, fast service with a great deal of efficiency, also dog friendly which is a massive plus as well as their massive beer garden which I can imagine gets packed in the summer, can’t wait to come back!Vegetarian options: The veggie options are just as good as the normal options!Dietary restrictions: We have a gluten free in our group and was difficult to find somewhere that catered for all of us, They have a gluten free options which saved our evening thinking we couldn’t find anywhere that does nice gluten free dishes but the east Kent pulled through and saved our evening

Everything we had was outstanding — from the bread to start, to our mains, and my husband’s dessert. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars is the price. For lunch, it came to £123 for the two of us (one drink each, bread to start, one main each, and a dessert), which makes it quite expensive and not somewhere most people could visit often. That said, it’s a truly stunning spot and perfect for a special occasion or treat.

The staff and the owner were incredible – friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The food wasn’t just food – it was pure food porn! Every bite was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and far beyond what we expected. I honestly cannot recommend Basil & Co enough – fantastic atmosphere, wonderful people, and food that leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished the meal.

180A Cromwell Rd, WhitstableArrived this week from Canada and continuing my tour of Whitstable’s great food scene. First Love Coffee is a standout. The Grilled Breakfast was spot on; the bacon was wonderful, and the Bubble and Squeak was a delicious first-time revelation for me.
The staff are incredibly welcoming and even suggested a walk to Whitstable Castle afterward, which is a must-see. A fantastic addition to my Whitstable journey. Highly recommended!

32 Church St, WhitstableWe visited on a Tuesday night and the pub and restaurant were quite busy. We had a warm welcome and friendly from the landlord and waitress. The food was lovely traditional pub food, local sausages and mash and a chicken and ham pie and mash. Served with fresh vegetables which were included in the price (as they should be imo!). We had a very nice evening and will return next time we’re in Whitstable. The owner of our Airbnb recommended two other places to eat and I’ll tell her to recommend The Monument too!

I had the scallops and Lamb Rump and my wife had the beef short rib and Seafood Boil, everything was exceptional. Everything tasted freshly cooked and the flavour was amazing.
