Best curry house in Burnley, we have been going for years and have never had a bad one yet

This evening we ordered Sylhet Murgh Masala (chicken dish), Garlic Bagaar Special (lamb), Aloo methi and special rice at a cost of £22.00. Every meal we ordered was outstanding, obviously cooked with great attention to detail. The lamb was tender and melted in the mouth and the spice ( I asked for medium hot) was perfect for me and very tasty. We placed our order in the shop and only had a wait of 15 minutes until it was ready. I also liked the fact that you can watch the chefs cooking your meals while you sit in comfort. I can fully recommend trying Shagor Takeaway.

Our first order from Shahor last night. We have friends staying so decided to treat ourselves. This was SO DELICIOUS! It's always a risk going somewhere new but we are delighted we did. The choice of dishes was the only problem! Deciding what to have took time. The mixed grill is huge we ordered 2 but 1 would have been plenty. Chicken Tikka Korma excellent Naans & rice top notch. We had enough left over to have a large lunch today. No hesitation in giving top marks all round. We have put it on our top 3 takeaways!

After listening to recommendation for this place, I realise that something has really caused this once fine takeaway to deteriorate. All the food had to be sent back. Tandoori chicken was oozing oil, Nan bread was like paper, Poppadoms were soggy, the onion chutney was a chopped onion ! Chips were cold and refried. To be fair the place was busy, but hygiene is still important, and very few of the guys had hats or nets on their hair, and I witnessed guts handling food with their fingers - not nice and especially in an open plan kitchen. We complained by telephone, and they pretend they could not hear three times, so eventually we took all the food back, they only gave a partial refund, and made excuses why the quality was so poor - 'this is the way we cook the food here' - well compared to the Aroma or the Usha this food and standard of service is way below par.
