I've had my food from Manlung for last 20 years, when I lived in Bury. Best ever. I've moved to Darwen now and nothing in that area compares, so I still try and get back to Bury every couple of weeks for a Chinese from Manlung! Giant portions as well. Can't recommend highly enough,.

Not as good as used to be.. I have been going here for years I beleive the mother handed the business to her children and I always order chicken fried rice I had about 3 peas in the dish my partner always has special curry and special fried rice again very limited meat seems they are cutting back, chips were also very undercooked you always just get the excuse of were very busy when you complain. But at 32 pounds for a takeaway you expect better if your that busy either hire more staff or decline orders until you get ontop because your standards have dropped I wasn't impressed with my meal last night at all. May have to look for a new favourite now.

Over the years we have ordered from here fairly regular and whilst the food is good - the service is so so poor we have given up ! You are regularly waiting 1 1/2 hours until it arrives and then parts of the order missing when it does arrive! This has happen on three of the last four orders. Whilst other takeaways rush to fix the issue, it’s another 40 minutes until anything comes. And the price is so expensive for the service it just isn’t worth it. Good food but such poor service, we have given up! Sadly this is the last time we use them. :-(
Ok so the food is good no problem with that, we ordered soft noodles special fried rice, chips and 2 curry sauce, we got delivered instead of the fried rice, special chew main, so 100% that’s 2 noodle dishes which no one would order, i rang them to explain that I’d ordered special fried rice, only to be met by laughter saying no you didn’t ? Four maybe five times I said to the owner/ lady on the phone yes I did ! the sarcastic laughter continued refusing to admit they were wrong, eventually and angrily they agreed to send out what i ordered asking to send back the dish I didn’t order ( I hope anyone that ordered after us didn’t get this ?) like I said the food is good but after the experience tonight the laughing down the phone and sarcastic comments we will take out custom elsewhere shame really but wind your neck in lady and admit you got our order wrong ?

16.2.2023 Review. I have been going to the Man Lung since it was taken over about 12 years ago now, and I can honestly and sincerely say that I have never been disappointed in the food or the service. I will admit that when we have had a couple of problems, they have always been amended promptly. ( Tell me what business doesn't have the odd issue! ). I just hope they don't close because it will take some beating to find a better Chinese chippy. My name is Graham from Merton Street. (A food critic!.)
