Called in for lunch, my mother in law ordered fish &chips. Said it was the best she had ever eaten. Generous portions. My wife and myself both enjoyed our meal.Excellent service. Not many people in on Thursday lunch, hence the 3 Star for atmosphere. Will definitely return.Parking: Very large carpark.

We had our son’s 1st birthday party in the private function room and I can’t recommend it enough. It was perfectly spacious for all of our family and friends with an added bonus of a separate room at the back for the buffet. We had lots of compliments about the food and how delicious it was! The children could also enjoy the play area which had lots of things to keep them entertained. The staff can’t do enough to help you! Will be going back for the delicious food and any event we may have in the future!

A local pub to us and one that we enjoy going to about twice a month on average. It has an adults section and a family section. As somebody that is hearing impaired, there is always somewhere quiet to sit. The food has always been good and the service is excellent too. A big car park with an overflow car park is most useful at busy times. It’s a 10/10 from us. Btw, the dirty fries are a little bit awesome!!! ???Parking: Easy to park, lots of parking & extra parking with a height barrier.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp up to the adults only section. I don’t know about the family side as we don’t use it.

Went in recently for a Christening and the food was seriously tasty. Especially the quiche. Will definitely return to try a roast soon! Atmosphere was good for a family oriented dining experience. Alot of things to keep the kids preoccupied and out of the way of the dining area. Friendly and attentive staff. Good

One of the worst experiences Iv had in a while! Almost every single table was complaining and had something wrong with their meals. First we were shoved in the kiddy’s corner because we have children, however we weren’t asked where we’d would like to sit & my kids don’t like to play in the play areas and one is noise sensitive so we had a full meal with babies and toddlers screaming around us. Then when we went to get our food told that the carvery turkey would be ready in 5-10 minutes. After waiting for 20 minutes we finally gave up and just had the beef for the turkey to then appear and we had to go to the back of the que with our plates of food going cold even though the server knew we had stood waiting for the turkey all that time. When we finally ate the beef was more fat & gristle than meat. We had also ordered kids meals, one of which I payed extra to add garlic bread to. The food came and I had to go and ask twice where the garlic bread was. The attitude of all of the staff was vacant and like they didn’t really care. My little lad had finished his food by the time the garlic bread came.

The Bowling Green is one of my favourite places to visit for a meal. The staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming and keep the entire operation ticking over very smoothly. The food is absolutely top notch.I did notice that the gentleman who was in charge of carving the ham, turkey and beef had his technique down to a fine art.If his instruction from the Management was to ensure that the meat was served in as thin a portion as possible, then he's certainly mastered his craft.I do realise pubs have to stay on the right side of profit, but customers may probably appreciate a little extra for their buck.On the whole though, very good.

The big problem was the wait time for food. The staff were lovely and the man serving of the carvery was very nice, but the wait at the carvery and for food to the table was excessive. The turkey was dry, and some of the vegetables looked very grey or tasted odd (the green beans had a mushy pod and hard beans inside. They seemed both over and undercooked). We even amending the time of our booking, on their advice, and it was excessive. We all ended up eating at different times. This was especially difficult as we had children with us.If you have kids, there's plenty to entertain them, and the wheelchair access for my mum was good, but we won't be rushing back.
