Stayed in the village of Waddington. Visited the Lower Buck. The landlord made us very welcome. There are three pubs in village. The Lower Buck was the best. What a lovely village pub, it suits Waddington which is a beautiful village in it’s own right. Sunday lunch was excellent, obviously home made and very good value. Choice of real ale was also good, the one from Bowness Bay was different but really tasty. The owner is extremely friendly and this encourages the staff to be the same.

This is a lovely warm traditional country pub, offering a friendly atmosphere and awarmwelcome. This is a dog friendly venue and was just what was wanted on a cold, frosty day. The fire was burning, and lunch was being served. The cheese and onion pie was superb. Take a trip to Waddington, go for a good walk, build up an appetite, and enjoy. Parking isn't easy, but do not let that put you off.

Busy as hell but still great service! Went for a Sunday roast and we weren't disappointed. The food was awesome from portion size to quality and no long wait either! We'll definitely be back.

Stayed at the Lower Buck for a couple of nights. It's a great location for walking in the area, Waddington's a picture postcard village and the Lower Buck is in the village. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, clean and well kept. The pub is ace. Well-kept beers, a good wine list, very dog friendly and great food. We had booked to eat there one night but ended up eating there both nights. Really can't fault our stay.Rooms: Recently refurbished. All facilities.Food & drinks: A good menu and cooked really well. The chef had even made cabbage enjoyable which is no mean feat. The gravy on my Haggis Neeps & Tatties was awesome.

Thank goodness this place is open again. It compliments and makes up the fantastic trio of restaurants in the village. The place is really clean and welcoming. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. They have FOUR fires. Yay.

My wife and I phoned an hour before our arrival at lunchtime on Sunday 17th Dec and got a cheery reply to say they would readily accommodate us although they were quite busy. We sat in the front room next to the open fire that our dog Ruby loved after the walk from Clitheroe. We ordered main courses from the table that took around 20 mins to arrive, and both thoroughly enjoyed our venison sausages and fish pie washed down with an excellent pint of Timothy Taylor's and brandy and lemonade x 2. The excellent service encouraged us to have a suite ..it would be rude not to!..sticky toffee pudding and rhubarb crumble with custard which again was delicious. We finished our drinks and paid the bill for just shy of £70.00 and left feeling thoroughly satiated. The staff were all very friendly...Ruby was even given a few boneo treats by the young waitress...so she was pleased too. All in all we had a lovely time and would recommend it to all.
