A few little niggles with the room that need attention. TV not working despite querying this with the staff and a slow flow with the shower.
The main change though was with regards to the food. It was really nice but not comparable to the previous dining experiences we have had at The Freemasons which were amazing!!
If anyone has ever experienced a breakfast here you will know what I mean when I say it is simply the best you will ever get - that too has changed under the new chef!! The breakfast was actually disappointing:(

The Lower Buck Inn
Edisford Rd, Waddington, ClitheroePopped over for some lunch and had a lovely meal with the family. All the staff were very friendly and service overall excellent. Food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious.
The kids burger and chips went down well. The fish pie and fish & chips were also very nice.
Can highly recommend for some drinks or food.

47 King St, Whalley, Clitheroehad their 3 for £20 deal and 3 more from main menu, plus a dessert and huge jug of sangria and it was only about £70 for the two of us! great quality of food and portion sizes actually decent considering its small plates! my only gripe is that if you’re not in a big group to get a booth then it’s only bar stool type seating which isn’t the most comfortable but it’s not that bad :)

Lots of activities/themed events throughout the year and even a monthly dog walk with coffee/tea and bacon sandwiches!

Perfect mixologist. Recommend the French Martini twist and the old fashioned twisted cocktails. We will be back from Burnley.

It’s the one place that I always take people to when they’re visiting and that I also recommend others to go to when asked. The staff are so so friendly and the service is always top tier. It’s perfect for all occasions whether it’s for a casual coffee and cake, a date night (they often do special evening food events too) or a night out with the girls and, in the summer the roof terrace is pure bliss! The cocktail menu is so unique and the coffee is 10/10, I’m always popping in even for a takeaway one. I would highly recommend that everyone pays a visit to support our local small businesses!

7-9 Parson Ln, ClitheroeStrange set up on arrival, you're seated by the entrance and give your order (maybe because it was a Sunday when they do buffet) before being taken to your table. We went for my birthday meal and had planned to eat from the menu until we were told about the buffet which was £16 per person. We took a gamble and it paid off. Started with papadoms and chutneys, then Wonderfully cooked starters with mains of our choices and pilau rice, a chickpea and spinach side and fluffy soft naans. Coffee and cake to finish. Incredible value for money. Incredible tasting fresh food. We will be coming back, especially on a Sunday because that buffet is so worth it. Thank you.

This shop does not take plastic and is cash only, there is an ATM in the Co-op car park 2 minutes walk away. They also sell Chinese food.

35 Wellgate, ClitheroeFood excellent, could have been warmer. Drivers need to.be aware of the difficulty in finding the hospital cottages. This is a problem for many companies delivering. Best practice would be to enter by the metal gate just up from the Higher Buck.

The building has such an amazing history as well, which only adds to the charm. Would hundred per cent recommend! As a random side note, the fan in the room is so quiet which is a major win if you run hot so like to sleep with the fan on!

But no ale ? in a pub? Like many others that had emptied the barrels likely Saturday evening and didn’t want to tap another probably until reopening on Wednesday? Like a petrol station with no fuel in my humble opinion and does make you feel a bit less wanted than those who have drunk before you.
That said, we had a very nice three course lunch for £38/ person.
The pub is very nicely decorated and laid out and the two chaps were very good.
We then cycled to Waddington, about a mile and found three great pubs and a club all open and busy. I got my pint in the end ????

Every time I was in Clitheroe, this was my go-to spot, without fail
The muffins are always fresh, soft, and perfectly baked
The cakes are consistently delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor
You can genuinely taste the quality in every bite
And the coffee? Smooth, rich, with that chocolate sprinkled on top and the perfect pairing with their desserts
There’s something special about this place, it’s cosy, welcoming, and feels like one of those hidden treasures you’re almost tempted to keep to yourself
But it deserves to be shouted about
If you’re in Clitheroe and love good coffee and even better cakes, Chocolate Works is a must

A great range of beers, lots of outdoor seating, a couple of terraces and a garden. The staff were all pleasant too. We just popped in for a beer after a walk and ended up staying for two. We intend on eating here now as the food looked incredible. Price of a pint was a little steep at £6.50, but the view was probably worth it. I will return, sooner rather than later.

Had to wait a little bit for the mocca coffee but it was definitely worth the wait! The best mocca I’ve had! Definitely worth a visit if you’re mooching around the markets. The extra touch of blankets on seats while you sit are brilliant.

Pendleton, ClitheroeWe have been numerous times over the years and never had a bad meal! The food is high end, price wise, but if you're after proper portions and delicious food then you won't be disappointed. On our most recent visit I had the special red wine beef and dumplings and it was delicious. Also served with veggies and potatoes of your liking. I always get the dauphinoise and they are incredible! I once bought them as an accompaniment just so I could take them home and have them with my lunch the day after ?. Highly recommended, very cosy, not very big inside and you will likely be seated close to another table but if you don't mind this then it's definitely worth a visit!
