Coach of 52 booked for breakfast before race trip, turned up to a closed pub ?
We stayed here one night in our motorhome which costs £15per person, this however comes off your bar tab.
Car park has a nice grassy area with tables at the back ( great for our ?, Mr T).
The food was excellent and reasonable priced, the staff, Landlord and Landlady were very friendly and helpful.
Front and back beer garden gave us a choice between sun and shade as it was very hot.
Will definately return.
Best pub in Garstang for a friendly welcoming experience by a country mile... Great food and the landlord and staff are A1...
Great home cooked food with excellent value
Would like to thank the staff and punters at the Wheatsheaf for making Bosh Claret very welcome last night at the fundraiser for the sadly missed Sam The place was heaving and he would've been very touched by the love and support for him. Thankyou for all your kind comments and yes we would love to return in 2025 x
Very friendly welcome from the bar.
Great choice of Cask Ales, Lager & Cider.
Lively inside with families.
Nice to sit outside the front.
Great choice of cask ales served by friendly and welcoming staff
Really enjoy the quiz on a Wednesday and the Sunday lunch is great.
We were looking forward to going to the wheatsheaf for a meal and it was bingo night which we thought would be a bit of fun. We ordered sharing Nachos as a starter and Gammon and chicken tikka for our mains. Everything came at the same time. So we asked them to take the mains away to keep them hot. When the mains came the garlic bread was burnt and I couldn't eat it I gave it to my dogs and the peas were to dry to eat. There was 3 bar staff in charge and after an hour no one came to take away the dishes away or to ask if everything was okay. The staff just sat at the end of the bar chatting among themselves and only got up if a customer wanted a drink. We didn't stay for the bingo and we will never go back to the Wheatsheaf again.

Lovely pub friendly service. Great cask ales. The food was great, the chips were, perhaps best I've had in a pub. The wife had the fish n chios and said the batter was light, fluffy, and full of fish. Great Barman, put in the Formula 1 qualifying for me.
This is the type of pub grub, service and friendliness you want when you're a stranger in town. Go visit, I'm sure you will enjoy the experience as much as we did.
Only called in for a drink
Firstly the pub : it's a littlemtired to be fair, the furniture is past ots best, the tables all worn and don't look the best. The pub inside is a little dark in places.
There were no menus on the tables, and we were given one for a party of three. When ordering food we were told two out of the three meals were.not available, so back to the table to share the single menu, to choose again. It maybe would.make sense to advise people when they are given the menu of items not available.
We waited thirty minutes to then ne told our order had not been given to the kitchen and we waited a further 25 minutes.
No complimentary drinks offered, just sorry for your wait... if we had not already paid, we would have left.
Now the food. This saved the review. The food was hot, fresh, well cooked, well presented and more importantly, delicious.
The food alone would have us returning, the whole experiences maybe not.
Parking: Car park at rear
Wheelchair accessibility: Rear entrance from car park is good access
Very quiet when we popped in.
Garstang is unfortunately full of extremely average pubs, with the Wheatsheaf being one of them. A very standard range of real ale on, and not kept at a particularly good quality. Service was slow and disinterested. The interior is also extremely bog standard and lacking any originality or care. Overall, I would not come back.
