Even though I live just up the road from here, I have not visited until a few weeks ago. And what a pleasant surprise it was. The food is first class, and not just the usual boring pub grub, a varied and excellent choice. The staff and service were fantastic. Lovely decor, very warm and inviting. Dogs are allowed in which is a big plus also. Would recommend a visit.

The food is absolutely delicious. Everything is homemade and amazing value for money. Such a lovely quaint little pub with a fantastic welcome and excellent service. Dogs welcome too which is great.

Delicious food brilliant service, nothing to much for them. We wanted a pizza but to take home,and it was no problem it was ready to take with us when we were leaving. Lovely pub with live music, unfortunately it wasn't on until 10 and we had to get our mum bk home. Maybe next time. Its our second time eating there and we will definitely be bk !

Always a little claustrophobic in here but I've been a few times now. I don't like the live music aspect, the sound doesn't work in a small low-roof pub like this in my opinion... Go on a nice quiet evening though and it's a lovely little place.

Popped into the George and Dragon on a Thursday lunch time. Myself and Partner were in the area visiting family and had previously been here for lunch so thought we'd try it out again. It didn't disappoint we both had Pie and Peas which was absolutely spot on. The price was good the staff were friendly you can't ask any more than that. Will come in again when we're next in the area.
We had Sunday roast here. None better. Could cut the beef with a fork. Will definitely be going here again.

I had planned a surprise party for my wife’s 60th birthday. 70 guests were coming so I ordered pie and peas for that number. The staff very generously offered to put up balloons and party decorations and I dropped the cake off the night before. When we arrived everything was as promised and they’d even given us exclusive use of the dining area. The food was served bang on time and was delicious. Everyone commented how good pies were. The bar service was excellent as always with no queues. There’s a great family feel to this pub as the staff are very cheerful and welcoming. Thank you so much for helping to make Gail’s special day perfect.

What a dive!! Went in for one with my fiance, on arrival we saw an old lady, around 75. with her head gashed on the pavement, there where people surrounding her. On arrival I presumed the people around her where employees of the george and dragon, however the people around her where punters, staff inside the pub apart from one member of staff, were not willing to help the old lady who was injured on the floor. By the time the ambulance arrived at the scene, the injured lady was potentiality comforted and felt slightly comfortable in the horrible situation, only for the customers who took time out of there own weekend to assist this lady. This woman was well into her 70s and in a completely horrific predicament. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to be desperate enough, to ever need any help in this establishment, as they wouldn't receive one ounce of empathy or kindness from any of the management or staff (Barr one). Stay way clear of this ridiculous, shambles of s shack. What a complete disgusting experience. Horrified and disturbed, avoid at every cost!!!
