1st visit to this Pub, was very impressed, food was lovely, lovely staff, would higly recommend and as an added bonus, the pub is dog friendly.

We called in for lunch. They were fully booked but managed to fit us in, in between bookings. We had their sausage & onion baguettes with chips. OMG the food was absolutely yummy. Next time we're in the area we will definitely go again.

Found this pub by asking Google for pubs near me, saw a picture of a cheese and steak baguette. We drove to it and was not disappointed, it was a steak and stilton baguette served with homemade chips and salad, absolutely delicious, my son had The Black Bull burger which was also very good as were the onion rings also homemade. Lovely atmosphere friendly staff, will definitely return if I am in the area again.

Lovely 18th century pub., very atmospheric. We didn't have anything to eat, just a drink. Great walk to Knot End down the old disused railway line

Absolutely beautiful food and really friendly landlord. Freshly cooked meals with everything cooked and prepared on site. We had the haddock and chips with mushy peas and also the cheese and onion pie with salad and chips. Both were AMAZING, the fish was beautifully cooked with thin batter and the chips were real chips which you can tell are cut and cooked on the premises. Would 100% recommend and we will be returning. Great pub. Friendly staff. Very reasonably priced food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere. Our evening was finished off with Bonkers Bingo that was such fun! We will be back!

Great tradional pub.Called in on Friday afternoon/evening for a few and glad we did. Its a pub like pubs used to be, full of character and friendly locals and bar staff. The Guinness was spot on. We didn't eat but the food looked and smelled excellent. We will definitely be calling in next time we are in the area

Just enjoyed a lovely home-cooked meal - Lee and his team have created a really quaint, welcoming environment. Plenty to choose from on the menu and all delicious. Took our dog on her first visit to a pub and she equally enjoyed it :) Thanks Lee, we’ll see you again soon xx
