Nice warm comfortable pub on a miserable Friday lunch. Greeted on arrival and shown to table. Quite a good menu with different choices. The two were one chicken and bacon sandwich with small side salad and salt and vinegar fries. Wife want keen on the chilliest on the fries. Mine was thesteak and onion bagette. With salad and chips. Both meals were excellent. I had one of the best pints of cask beer you could have. Very good staff. Value for money.

Great food and good menu. Very friendly staff who were very attentive BUT the service was very slow - over an hour to get the mains. Having said that we received apologies for the wait and a free drink all round which was appreciated.

Stumbling upon The Stags Head in the hit-or-miss world of English gastro pubs, this spot lands just on the side of a hit. Its ambiance shines with inventive decor, like scaffolding turned shelving, and the staff's warmth is undeniable. Yet, it falters where it matters: the food. The menu promises classic pub grub—gammon, burgers, fish and chips—all executed with a competence that's unfortunately overshadowed by an overindulgence in the fryer. The fish drowned under too much batter, and the frozen, oily halloumi was a letdown. The gammon, however, stood out for its quality. I'll venture back, steering clear of the deep-fried and the frozen, hopeful for a warmer toilet experience.
We came to the stags head on 5th Feb for my mates birthday surprise everything was spot on , the manager even opened few minutes earlier so we could hide and surprise my friend x the waitress was lovely also giving top service thanks so much I didn’t get your name , the table was set beautifully a little added touch was the lollipops pops for us I would recommend highlyVegetarian options: Good choiceDietary restrictions: Everything was covered for vegan options and others all was explained by the managerParking: We had no problem parking all was amazing

Place was very good. Got served quickly although my daughter booked in advance. My daughter has been before, our first time my husband and myself had a roast, the potatoes were dry and hard the veg was not cooked properly also the Yorkshire pudding was dry. The meat was delicious though.
