Second time here for Sunday lunch. Set 3 course for £36pp. Fancy looking starters, nothing special, sharing platter of roast chicken and roast beef with veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. Didn’t really want 3 courses but wasn’t another option. Veg consisted of mange tout, green beans and unpeeled carrots, was more than al-dente, practically raw with no taste, chicken skin wasn’t crispy as it should be, both meats lacked flavour as did the gravy (red wine jus). Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, is what it is. Very disappointed as was really looking forward to a tasty Sunday lunch.

This little restaurant really is a gem. Pun intended. Been several times for lunch and this time for Dinner for a Birthday. Imaginative menu and not a regular soup drinker but the inventive soups here are a taste sensation starter. The neat menu gives plenty of choice and the fish dishes are outstanding. Tasting menus also on offer. Special mention to the attentive charming staff and I was so impressed at the end that I went to thank the chef and his hard working team in the kitchen. This place deserves many accolades.

Went on Christmas Eve for a date night and did the semi set menu. The food was delicious - that steak was cooked to perfection and the cauliflower cheese was to die for. Lovely cosy feel, excellent service, and reasonably priced too

Birthday dinner with husband, which with a young child we don’t get out together very often so decided to treat ourselves. Overall experience was excellent, we went on a Thursday between Christmas & New Year on which was a busy night at Gemni but the staff were all friendly and pleasant and we were seated downstairs quickly. We never felt rushed or pushed. We had a 2 course set menu with wine. The menu wasn’t extensive but great choice, especially with my husband not eating meat. Overall food and experience was great! Will definitely return and try another night in the week.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. And it certainly will not be our last. The moment you step through the doors the service is exceptional. Coats taken away, and drinks arrive in minutes. Seated at the table the menus arrive and THEN your experience begins. The food can only be described in one word - STUNNING - Thank you to all your team, see you again soon.
