Everything was excellent! Had a grameat night with the Milnthorpe steel band, a superb buffet and a well cooked breakfast. Very friendly staff - which starts at the top. We'll be back!

Lovely hotel with scenery around to match. Cosy en suite rooms with tea and coffee available, excellent Sunday lunch and well stocked bar with a good choice of real ales.

Didn't stay, so can not comment on rooms. Had food, which was very good.

Arrived on a busy Sunday & snagged seat near bar 2.50. Took table reservation at 3.30. Surprised another room available with tables. Pleasant host. Had soup lovely apple & celeriac. Partner & daughter had a different pie apiece. With chips & peas. Gravy. Chips gorgeous, lovely pastry. Daughter had spicy pork, partner minced beef. Chatted to old boy at bar, partner was local. Tables/garden for summer. Party in conservatory big table. Partner enjoyed the beer. Recommend. Welcomed muddy boots. Dogs & kids as well!

Never disappointed by the fish and chips (or any meal!!) here. Service is always brilliant, you can tell so much love is put into this place by the amazing owners. Whenever I have a hankering for great fish and chips I come here - but the same goes for pie and Sunday roast too!! ;) Would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

Great service, great pie, yet a miserable experience this time…..How can that be?My wife’s fish pie was quite odd. Whilst she said it was decent - it was served in its own dish, which was then placed a on normal sized dinner plate. The only other thing on the plate was a spoonful of garden peas that comically rolled around the plate.. Thoughtless and boring presentation. However, in keeping in line with other local hostelries in winter, the Silverdale Hotel also doesn’t like to put the heating on too high - if at all? We were in the so-called cosy, Copper Room, with ironically an open hearth with a fire in it. It was a very very cold, the pub was not much warmer, and the fire in the hearth was not utilised.Surely they must notice that many customers are eating with their coats on? Does this not tell them something? We weren’t the only ones that day to have to keep ours on. We overheard the five customers on the table next to us to debate whether they should have another round of drinks. After much discussion they decided to go to one of their homes ‘and get warm’.So, we will give this place a miss until well after easter. Owners don’t like paying energy bills, in turn they must understand that they then pay for this choice in another way - as customers don’t like eating in cold venues either - and stay away till warmer times.Hopefully they see this as constructive criticism, and don’t try to blindly defend themselves. We’d love to come back here in the winter monthsAnyway..off to our favoured (warm and comfortable) pub now for lunch….

Had lunch here. A lovely beetroot, cheese and walnut salad. My husband had the soup and a sandwich. Good value, well presented and tasty.
