This is how a pub should be. No thrills, friendly and not expensive.

You walk in and it just wows you. Original. Quirky. Homely. I'm buying this place one day. ❤️

A portal to a simpler time where beer was cheaper and bars had proper snacks. The Woodlands, commonly referred to as 'the woodies', is home to friendly bar staff who warmly accommodate all who come to drink there. With stunning views of the village and the bay, 'the woodies' is in an idea location surrounded by the woods looking out over land and deer.

Great beers and great walks near-by. A lovely pub, quirkiness from the last century remains - long May the folks who run it continue?

Can't beat this place. Even better on a cold winter night when the open fire is burning.
Stopped here with my dear brother-in-law and had a couple of pints super place. Wonderful views sat out the front and they had food wagons serving really really delicious looking food. Wonderful conversation with a guy who done a 25 year shift at Woodlands keeping the place up and running. By the way, I missed out the most important thing they had for guest ales, which were absolutely super beautifully kept real beer.

Mixed review here as I love it but it’s a very old pub experience . I understand other points of view as it isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea yet I would like to point out that this timeless gem is so wrong it’s actually right. In New York they calm these dive bars, in an affectionate way. If this place got new furniture and a lick of paint I think it would actually ruin it.So. To finish. It’s a must go to place. Then you decide. As I said. I love it.

Great location and traditional pub friendly staff and local great views out to the coast and Silverdale don't sell food occasionally a burger van but check with them first plenty outside space nice fire in the colder months, short walk to camping site at Holgates through the woods

Good well kept beer quite a nice place i have marked 2 stars for the food as I couldn't sample it as the outside catering van only accepted cash no card it smelt good though and would go back again

Saturday 17th June 2023This real ale pub is a great real ale pub it served 4 good beers can't say if real ale as the landlady refused to let me get a picture of the back room where the beers were kept that's her right so like for like I can't give a propper to my viewers through her actionsThe pub is a gem really big old fashione interiors and a beer garden with magnificent views of the area
