Had reserves a table and on arrival was directed to it,Ordered the mixed grill with the steak medium, after a short wait it was brought to the table,presentation was great,steak was cooked perfectly to how I ordered, the chicken was moist,gammon tasty,sausages meaty,chips,peas,mushrooms and fried egg were all cooked well, whole meal was very enjoyable, will be returning soon.

Had to wait for carvery to be topped up then told should have ordered veg option at bar when paying and they said to just mention at carvery, food was just about warm and carrots and parsnips swimming in oil. Table was booked til 2.30 but 2 servers came to try and clear plates when 1 of us was still eating and tried to actually take her plate between mouthfuls. Advertised turkey as 1 of meats but none available Def won't be going back in a hurry. Sad experience for mothering SundayVegetarian options: Mum had spinach tart which was reported to be niceDietary restrictions: Carvery reported to be gluten free apart from stuffing, and Yorkshire's.

The food was lovely although disappointed carvery not available the day we visited. Staff could be more engaged with customers. We tried to interact with them but was largely ignored.Vegetarian options: Some nice vegetarian food but not vegan options.Parking: Easy to find and park

On arrival after booking a table ,there was no one to greet and show to a table ,so we looked for a table . Although it wasn't busy a lot of tables were not cleared or cleaned ,one we did find was sticky but it was the best we could find . I went to bar to order drinks and waited even though there was 4 staff behind the bar ,most who were not serving anyone . When I returned again to put a food order in I was again ignored whilst a bar man laughed and chatted away to a customer ,other girls just stood there doing nothing . I eventually caught the eye of a girl so I moved to bed served .After 15 mins our started arrived ,hygiene was a concern as young lad carried bowls to table with his fingers inside the bowl touching the food . On eating a starter of mushrooms I struggled to enjoy them due to them being overcooked with a hard dry coating and a shrivelled up mushroom was inside .returned to bar explained how inedible they were ,was given a refund but not one person apologised to me ,just did a transaction gave me my receipt and that was it .Would of loved to have a carvery meal but it was decimated ,what food that was there was overcooked and didn't look good ,the beef was brown and dry ,no gammon only a little bit of turkey . We kept waiting for it to be topped with fresh food but nothing ,it was only just after 5 pm ,nothing still on there at 5.30 pm either . I've never been so disheartened by food quality and service in a pub at all ! It was a Sunday ,early evening ,not like it was late and little to be expected . I remember coming a couple of years back and it was bad then ,so we stopped coming but was told new ownership / management and looking at food options on the website it looked good ,I wish I had gone further afield now ,doubt if we will be back again . Dreading what mains will be like when it arrives .After a further wait of 25 mins our mains arrived , slight improvement on starters but certainly not worth the money or time hunters chicken with a pastry portion of chips ,hardly any BBQ sauce on chicken and a measley 2 onion rings ,hand battered fish and chips ,was certainly not hand battered was a frozen piece cooked ,not like stated in the menu! Oh well we gave it another go ,but sadly the staff service and the quality of food was just not worth the bother!
