I love Gennars, I don’t care how long it takes, good food takes time to prepare, you want fast food, go to a McDonald’s. I want good food and that’s what I get. The food is amazing and it’s the only place I go to for a decent Chargrilled burger. It’s a win every time for me and they’ve never changed their standards. Love them, don’t ever change.

Ordered food at 5.30 said it would be here ETA 6.50-7.10 which was a long wait anyway but I understand it was a a Saturday night so it is what it is. Phoned at 7.30pm as no sign on the app it was on the way and had very hungry young children to be told it will be coming out next. Phoned again at 8.30pm as still no sign to be told it would still be another 30 minutes or more! Had to cancel the order as the children were literally starving by this point and needed to go to bed so I had to end up cooking them something and I wasn’t even able to eat as I had not been food shopping. 3.5 hour wait for pasta and garlic bread is just not acceptable and god knows what time it would have eventually turned up if at all! Our whole family night was ruined as everyone was hangry. Do not take so many orders if you cannot keep up with them very very disappointing.

Gennars is a very welcoming family run Italian takeaway. They provide outstanding food of the best quality, this is a ferm favourite for our family. If pizza is your guilty pleasure, you will not be disappointed!See you soon ?

Waited 90 mins garlic bread cold. Husbands seafood pasta had not much seafood in it. Carbanara was OK. This place used to be fantastic sadly no more. Sorry but last time we will order from here

Love Gennars but tonight for the first time my lasagna was burnt at the bottom which was very upsetting . So could only eat the top half
10/12/2022 I know it’s a World Cup match waited 2hrs and 29 minutes ok I know it’s busy food came hot and fresh lovely 2 pizzas a garlic bread and chips but when digging in to the chips pulled one out of my mouth and there was a big long white hair I was gipping wasn’t nice at all definitely not from me as I’m bald I’m really disappointed as it was so nice up until this point went in the the bin from then guttedDietary restrictions: Nothing apart from the big white hair stuck in my mouth

Placed an order and was told 20 mins went to collect and had to wait more than 30 mins in total 50mins.starter fungi ripening should had a sauce but was dry looked like it was kept in an oven and was over cooked same for main l ordered lasagne it was burnt at the base and tasteless most went in the bin don't think I will use this place again

I discovered Gennars just over a year ago. Having previously wasted money on other takeaways in the area in search of decent Italian food I was delighted to have found an actual authentic Italian. I have worked in Italy for many months at a time over the last ten years and admittedly it’s made me a bit of pizza snob. I have searched in vain plenty of times for that genuine Italian taste and tried so many different places that advertise this but deliver generic cheap ingredients on the sub par base yet charge over the odds. However finally, much to my delight, I found this first-rate establishment where you get that specific authentic taste. A proper base, that isn’t thick stodgy or under/over cooked, that irreplaceable genuine mozzarella and every topping I’ve had has been delicious, not the mass produced rubbish you get from the big pizza chains that leave you feeling a bit stuffed and ill afterwards. And the price is very reasonable! I would happily pay more. Especially when you consider this is a small family run business, from Italy (maybe Sicily so apologies in advance!) compared to mass produced dominos where they are probably making 90% profit from the manufactured cr*p they charge £20+ for. Also the other dishes I’ve had, particularly the chicken cutlets and black pudding with mushrooms have been great every time. I almost never leave reviews on places, even when they are good but because I’ve wasted money on other sub standard establishments I feel I need to recommend to other people who may have previously had unsatisfactory ventures to takeaways in the same area. To summarise, basically this is now, my partner and I’s go-to take away. Our only complaint if I had to think of one, is that we wish they had a restaurant we could sit down in because I have no doubt the modest and professional gentleman at Gennars would provide a fantastic experience. 10/10 take away. Probably the worst takeaway ever , cold and soggy. 1 hour and 40 minutes from order to delivery. 90% went into the bin. Could have cooked a full meal while waiting. Never again.
