Love the cheap drink and the atmosphere but the food let's this place down. Sometimes you can get a lovely hot meal and the other times it is cold and doesn't taste great. Apart from that drinks are cheaper than other pubs.Kid-friendliness: You always see kids sitting and eating. There are colouring papers for kids too do as well.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy access from front door. Ramp in smoking area for easy access too.

Rather disappointed all day brunch not up to much, decor of the pub needs lot of attention total refurb, very drab. The only good thing is the the refill coffee. Enjoyed meal vast improvement well done. Still needs decorating but breakfast was good. Staff are very good friendly and efficient.

Isnt to bad its a witherspoons leaking ceilings n blocked loo,s but beer is cheap n ok to drink ?

We visited The Monkey Walk in December 2023. The pub is in an interestingly-shaped building located in Coalville’s Marlborough Square. It’s a reasonably small L-shaped pub, with a few seating areas tucked away at the side with fireplaces. When we visited it had been recently re-decorated, with the walls freshly painted a pleasant neutral shade of grey. The pub does have a beer garden to the rear but it’s tiny, only hosting a few tables and mainly serving as an area for smokers to pop outside. Cheap beer,the food is the same as every other wetherspoons. friendly staff ,and you get to meet some of the local characters.
Customer service very poor. It felt like I was doing the waiter a favour. And to top it off, she was the manager!

Breakfast was good but I've one complaint- the mushroom singular. I asked to swap bacon for mushrooms on my small breakfast. 1 individual mushroom came out half raw. I remembered then that the last rime I'd had breakfast here I'd gotten a half raw mushroom too. So this time I asked to swap it for a cooked mushroom since I'd swapped out the bacon especially. The lady came back with another one and said "this one is raw too, do you want me to get you a different one?" I gave up then. Clearly I didn't want a replacement that was the same! Why can't you cook a mushroom in there guys!? What's the deal? Whatever method you're using to cook it, just do it a tad longer!!! I'd have complained about only getting a ration of one small mushroom but one raw mushroom is enough for anyone. Lol

I'm a stranger to the town, but I have been to the Monkey Walk a few times and always felt welcomed there by the locals. Friendly staff. Good/average food, just what you'd expect from a Weatherspoon. The pub's layout is interesting, which is probably hence the name given to this pub :-)
