Great Indian restaurant with really friendly staff and owner/manager, handling our large table with ease, and delicious food. The Ivy Chutney Feast was excellent with a good selection of starters and mains, spot on portion sizes for 4 to share buffet style, perfect value for money. This was my second visit, and anytime I’m in Leicester this will be top of the list!

Excellent food, we had the banquet between 4. The service was great too. Beer was fine. Not many people in there that's all.

Had big expectations of Chutney Ivy having seen it described as the best Indian Restaurant in Leicester by some. The food was OK, average, nothing spectacular. However, taking the price into account, then I'd say it was slightly below average. The service was excellent, even though they brought us a dish we didn't order!Overall, I'd say like so many other restaurants that target the premium end of the market, Chutney Ivy seem to have forgotten that the food comes first. You can have a lovely restaurant, well trained staff, but if you are going to charge premium prices (with service charge added by default, and not discretionary) then above all, your food has to be premium too.Leicester has a lot of Indian restaurants, and so to be up there with the best, the food has to be very good. Unfortunately, Chutney Ivy ultimately falls short. A premium priced restaurant, with food which is at best, average. Probably explains why on a Friday night, 60% of the tables were empty.

I used to love food at Chutney Ivy but last couple of times we went there, the food was not as tasty. I remember when it was very rich in flavour and you knew that is worth the price. The Lamb Rogan Josh was a bit bland. We complained but that didn't change much and when came to paying the bill, they still added service charge.

The sevove was utterly horrible! It took so long for the food to come and it feels like your going to suffocate with the atmosphrere i expect better from this!

Paneer makahini was extremely disappointing, zero flavour in the sauce. This is a dish I often choose so know how it should taste. Both the naan breads were vastly undercooked. The keema filling was the best I've tasted though but very little of it.His lamb kohe-avadh muglai curry was very good indeed.Decor is worn and tired.

Poppadoms were a bit old and the dips not great, we went for the vegetarian menu and it's was OK but not wow. The staff were lovely and the place had a welcoming

A very generous, freshly cooked lunchtime meal.Kebab, samosa and onion bhaji (all 3 per person) to startChoice of curries with rice or naanSoft drink, tea or coffeeAll for 12.50 per person plus service charge of 1.25Good service at a price I didn't think existed nowThis restaurant is just across the road from the Curve theatre so for anyone like us going to a matinee, it's perfect

We have had a family meal at Chutney Ivy for a number of years at Xmas . This year it was disappointing . We all ordered the theatre set menu as usual but the portions were disappointing and the lentil dish like soup . Service average and my deposit was not included on the bill . Drinks were frankly exorbitant . I’m sorry to say our experience overall meal is not what it was .Parking: Rutland street car park is expensive and was filthy . I’m aware that is no fault of Chutney Ivy !
