First time ever visiting a Miller & Carter. Absolutely brilliant food, atmosphere and service. Visited on New Years Eve and had the set menu. Judith was so lovely and very welcoming too!

We had Judith serving us, she was lovely! She was efficient, but had a really good laugh with us. The food was brilliant, especially mains coming not long after our starter. Scallop starter were fantastic, my first time having them as well.

Great steak (as expected) and terrific staff make this a restaurant I'll be very keen to return to. The welcome was friendly and warm, and our steak expert (Yolanda?) was very enthusiastic and cheerful, we had a great time chatting with her and she made it a memorable visit with her great personality! We mentioned we were celebrating and received a lovely 'congratulations' written in chocolate sauce, which was a great little touch.The steak sauces were flavoursome, the beef dripping was luxurious, and the chips were terrific. The steaks themselves were delicious, tender and cooked just as requested, all in all a really great experience.

Could fault our family Boxing Day lunch! 3 courses and a couple of drinks, it was just a perfect was to end the Christmas celebrations.Staff were lovely, friendly and wanted to make sure we had a lovely afternoon.We had crackers on the table ready and the food came out at a perfect speedy. Didn’t feel rushed and left a nice gap between the courses.Would highly recommend for the price.

The meals all came out together and were hot. Long wait for deserts when we had people who had to travel some distance home to be at work for 6am this morning.A party of 24, the booking process was a complete nightmare from beginning to end. They wouldn’t accept a handwritten form for menu choices with no reason and dismissed me out of hand. My husband then kindly filled in the on line spreadsheet which did not fully match the menu we were given. This was sent by email to the email address provided only to notified email address not know when the email was provided by Miller & Carter. 2 days for phones calls to be answered and correct email given after the caller kept insisting that they hadn’t provided the email address, we didn’t make it up. Finally I received an email on 16th December wanting to know where our orders were, we were currently in Paris on a mini break.I admit that we used two email addresses but there was a booking reference and same surname on all correspondence from us. A total shambles for my husband’s 70th birthday celebration with family and friends.Finally each couple/ family paid for their own meal with us paying the bar tab. The process of paying was not an easy process. Why can they not do separate bills like every other restaurant where big parties are concerned?All the above did somewhat take the shine off my husband’s celebration.

Fantastic welcome. It’s my partners birthday and she was flattered by the compliments given and the birthday complimentary drink.The food was fantastic and our server Aimee was lovely, attentive and so polite.

This was the first time visiting since before the pandemic and looking forward to the meal. We Had to wait few minutes when we arrived to be seated. Then when at our table and got drinks, placed order the starters came out after about 30 minutes which we both felt was far too long. Then another lengthy wait for the mains. Restaurant wasn’t too busy as we could see staff chatting near the food counter and noticed one of the chefs was constantly eating. When the mains eventually arrived, we had been given the lettuce wedges, then another wait of 10 minutes for the steak, then another wait for the chips. We would have expected these to come out together. The onion loaf was cold and asked for replacement. When paying the bill, I paid with cash and wasn’t sure how long the waitress would taken to return so we left with paying an unintended tip. We both left disappointed and don’t feel the return anytime soon.

Never been so a first time and with other family members recommending. So we arrived early and the staff were fantastic. Very pleasant atmosphere and overall what seemed nice place to be. We ordered drinks and sat near the bar and I needed a toilet. Went in the mens and found sick all in the urinal. Tissue paper everywhere. I had been in better nightclub toilets. We eventually sat down and again staff were very pleasant and helpful. Next to our table was some brickwork towards the front of the building and below painted woodwork. In the brickwork was stuffed Tissue that a previous customer had left, no idea what was in it. The painted wood work was splattered heavily with food! Right next to sitting area. Honestly it was disgusting! The meal came and all good and again staff were lovely. I went toilet over a hr later before leaving and toilets were still trashed! For a restaurant running at a decent cost for dining i was shocked! Toilets and dining areas should be checked regularly not just a brief wipe over the table. Apparently my partner has said the M & C Burton is by far better. Very disappointing.

Our first Christmas as a married couple at this restaurant was amazing! Eve, the steak expert, was incredibly kind and gave fantastic food recommendations with great communication. The atmosphere was delightful, making it a perfect spot for a special and romantic date. Highly recommended!

I am a regular customer at this restaurant, my friends and I come here to eat every week. The managers and other employees all welcomed us properly. We only met the person on duty that day. She felt unhappy when we entered the restaurant and she looked at us with contemptuous eyes. I have enough money to pay our bills. I would like to emphasize that the clothes I wear are long and elegant, and no manager or employee will refuse us except her.

Alexa was great but the over all service was shocking. Not enough staff to cover a Friday night in December. We had to wait over 10 mins for a drinks order to be taken and the same for the plates to be cleared. The food was fantastic as always but the service or lack of let it down.
