We visited The Corn Exchange in August 2023. The pub is an impressive Grade II listed building, with a huge stone archway to the front which unfortunately was undergoing some work on our visit. The pub was refurbished in 2022 and the interior is a vast, open area across multiple levels wrapped around a central bar.The carpet is particularly interesting, with reference to the Leicestershire cinquefoil and the agricultural history of the building. The toilets have benefited from the refurbishment and the pub feels quite fresh, albeit very brown.Check out our website or visit our socials (@wethowanderers) to read our full review of the pub!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available.Parking: In Leicester city centre, so paid parking is available but a short walk away. Most council-owned car parks were £2 for 1 hour on our visit.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly pub.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible with downstairs accessible toilets.

What's always struck me the most about this pub is that, despite it's very large, it's often completely full. In the mid 2020s, this is one of the few pubs in Leicester where two pints can land in your table for a fiver. The beer selection isn't bad! The selection of food is large, but much of it is meh. The pub's affordability makes it popular with students and pub crawls. A big plus is the pub's location in one of England's lovelier renovated historic corn exchanges

The majority of the online app was dissabled Breakfast took over 30 minutes. The eggs were hard ( after ordering soft), and the butter packs had melted into the breakfast, which left none for the toast. The pub was seriously understaffed and under prepared for the event in the city that had been advertised for months.

The food was nice, value for money. In a restricted parking zone but great location with history. If you're driving, look for parking nearby and walk to The Corn Exchange.

Food was good but when I went to get another drink the manager there, think his name was Jon, was absurdly rude, unmannered and had a foul attitude. Another staff had to apologise for his behaviour as they could see on my face that I was quite offended by the poor service from him.

Service was very slow, and the pub was dirty. We nipped in after doing a little shopping and was shocked by the atmosphere we weren't able to relax due to feeling unsafe.

I came here for four consecutive breakfasts and a meal one of those evenings. Although service was quick, there were at most only two guest beers available and sometimes just the one. The building is really well done and the former Corn Exchange has been made into a well designed space. For my tastes the music was too load and I found it hard to converse at times.

My dad, baby and I came in for a meal yesterday and they were awful. The jacket potato fillings were dry and crusty, almost as if they’d been sat for ages. The salad was off - the chef should be embarrassed to let that go out of the kitchen! The service was terrible considering the pub was half empty. My dad paid for that and I was embarrassed for him.

Lovely weatherspoons in Leicester. Much nicer than the Highcross up near St Nicolas Circle. Staff were very friendly and service was fast. Usual spoons prices and quality you would expect.

Slow service waiting for food around 35 minutes from ordering, small portions of mash potatoes steak and kidney pie and peas, large breakfast arrived without any bacon. Had waited that long to receive the food I had by this point lost the will to complain that the bacon was missing. Although the food was good, pity about the other points.

We went there for quick drinks, there were plenty of options of all types of alcohol. We ordered 2 double whiskey and it cost us 11 pounds. We neither checked the food menu nor ordered food. There were lot of people there as the place was big. They also have place to sit outside. This place looks good for a bar, but I don't think I will order food there.

Tis an alright Spoons with a good selection of well-kept ales and friendly people working, the building is nice. Some of the clientele are, um, interesting. There was a gentleman smoking in the foyer as I arrived (not even leaning out the door, just stood in foyer smoking. It wasn't even raining or cold out), another gentleman inside was delivering a very loud extended anecdote about a fellow who (how can I put this politely?) experienced a surprise bathroom-related incident. He told the story, I zoned out for a bit, then 15 minutes later he was still telling the story (he must have said the phrase "he hit himself" (albeit not the word "hit" but "hit" prefaced with an "s") about 15,000 times).4/5
