I booked dinner, bed and breakfast to celebrate my husband's birthday. I chose well. It was fabulous from start to finish. The room was beautifully appointed, even with homemade brownies on the Welcome Tray.Dinner was sublime. Each course presented and explained.The staff were attentive and professional.Breakfast was hearty and hot.The owner, Daniel and staff, Luke, Craig and Isobel made our visit memorable. Thank you. We will be back.

The room was well appointed and clean. Breakfast was probably the best I have ever had in any hotel in any country. The service was fantastic. I have attempted to stay again, however unable to find a room on the dates I needed. I am, however, determined to get back!Food & drinks: Spectacular.

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I'd booked the vegan grazing menu for a Saturday night out with my husband and it was perfect! On the Thursday beforehand, the menu was emailed to me confirming dietary requirements and put in place the start of an excellent experience. We were welcomed as we walked through the door and asked if we wanted to go directly to our table or to relax in the bar area first; we chose the bar. We had a drink there and admired the artwork, our three canapés arrived individually and we devoured each one. The first, a mushroom tart of sorts is the best thing I've eaten in a long time, the textures and flavours were absolutely incredible. After canapés and a cocktail we were shown to our table when course after course delighted us. The food was incredible yes but the service was also outstanding. Each course was brought to us and introduced by the chef responsible and the menu was in a little envelope on the table so we could refer if we wanted. The evening lasted about three hours for us and it was so lovely to just sit in each other's company, enjoy fantastic experience and not feel rushed in any way. We were the only people for that table for the evening. Highlights: Food. Service. Atmosphere. That first canapé. The perfect sized coffee at the end of the evening.

Absolutely amazing! We’ve lived in the area for some time but never visited, but decided to go for a birthday lunch. From the moment we walked in, the friendly service and welcome was 10/10! The food was the best I’ve had, and they even catered for vegetarians. I would highly recommend for any special occasion
We ate here to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful experience with divine food. The festive grazing menu was absolutely delicious with the scallops being a standout dish. The setting feels intimate with friendly, professional and attentive service. Everything we ate and drank set the taste buds alive. A perfect evening. Highly recommended if you like fine dining, well-thought out menus, nothing too pompous but with an air of sophistication and class.

We celebrated my son’s wedding here and I am so grateful for the fantastic service. The food was amazing, the service friendly and attentive, the attention to detail exceptional. Danny and his team, especially Chef Dan, put together a dairy free menu to accommodate a guest’s allergy and even translated the menu to Portuguese for the bride’s family which made them feel so welcome. I can’t recommend this exceptional restaurant enough.

Great set up. Attentive and polite staff. Great menu. Only observation would be that the wine flight is a bit steep and some of the courses could have been a little warmer. But the food was delicious, well presented with informative explanation. We really enjoyed our meal. Would recommend.

There’s eating out at a pub and then there’s eating out at a pub. Sensational. Food is on another level of good and service was first class, personal and just all round brilliant. Food is delicious - so good you can’t describe it! Just go experience for yourself. Loved

There was a choice of three starters & three mains, None of the three fish options in original form was suitable for a mollusc allergy which was surely poor planning and left a very restricted choice! But, other than this disappointing start, the food, wines, service & ambience were all excellent and we would visit again but would check beforehand that there was going to be a better range of options for the mollusc allergy as it’s nice to feel like you’re getting some sort of choice.
