KoJa Restaurant
5 The Rushes, LoughboroughThe most incredible meal here tonight. Service was outstanding, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough to help. The food was 10/10 out of this world good, I especially recommend the beef short rib which was marinated in the most delicious sauce. We also had bibimbap rice which would make a stunning meal on its own but paired with the meat was perfect. The deserts were the perfect end to an incredible experience!! Thank you and will hopefully see you again soon.Vegetarian options: Lots of different options available.Kid-friendliness: The experience would be great for kids but as long as the kids are aware of the dangers.

Plan Burrito
57 Ashby Rd, LoughboroughFood was great, very filling. It was my first time there and the attendant explained it to me. The meal deal wasn't pointed out or mentioned so I may have spent more than I needed to when I could've spent less for more. I would just say they should point out meal deals with customers so they can save a bit. The disco music videos on screen were a bit out of theme I expected more of a Hispanic influence but that may be just me. Overall good experience, just be sure to grab a meal deal to spend less.

Fernandez Grillhouse
7 High St, LoughboroughWhen booking the table, the server very friendly and informative. He informed us of the location of the car park without us asking. On entering the restaraunt, it was very clean, we were served by Din and Rob and given a choice of tables. The menu was clearly explained to us, I can't fault the service at all.As we were waiting for our food, we were given regular updates. We ordered one Pepsi and one tap water, the tap water arrived in a bottle, with a glass containing ice. This was a really nice touch which is often overlooked. For the mains, we ordered the tenders and the beef burrito. We were very pleased with both choices. Again, Din and Rob regularly checked up on us to ensure we had everything we needed.Overall, I must say I can't fault this restaraunt at all. The service and food were both excellent.

Mount Gurkha (Loughborough)
31 Ashby Rd, LoughboroughLovely Indian restaurant right on Ashby Road. We came here as a large group (12) and were very impressed with the speed of the service considering so much was ordered all at once.Being a large group we tasted a good cross section of the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their curries.I personally went for the chicken bhuna and it was lovely tangy tomato with a warming chilli heat throughout. The value for money was incredible and they offer 10% student discount which we were very grateful for, especially given the current economy. The only minor complaint was that the naan bread was rather thin and crispy rather than the more soft, bread-like texture one would expect.Overall the food was highly flavourful and we would certainly return.

Caravelli
The Old Manor, 11 Sparrow Hill, LoughboroughEncouraging to see a restaurant busy mid week, we called in on the off chance and were seriously impressed. The Leicestershire area has been missing a decent Italian since the old owners of Ferraris retired. Every dish that came out the kitchen was piping hot, superbly presented and what we tried all tasted fresh. Make sure you leave room for dessert the Tiramisu was stunning Drink prices are very reasonable along with a friendly team of staff. Highly recommend

TARBOUSH
12A Market St, LoughboroughTarboush Express is finally open!I tried it today on their second day, and I am soooo pleased with the experience.I had an amazing bite of Chicken Shawarma that took me on a trip to the Levant, and I then had a Lamb Shawarma meal which was as amazing! There was also another person expressing how he felt the flavour was even better than the most famous meat Shawarma in the middle of Damascus Centre!I had to end my meal with a cheese Knefeh (Kunefe) which is a traditional dessert and this was also very tasty with a pot of Turkish tea that they offered me with a hint of Mint inside it, making it a mix between a tea from Turkey and a Morrocan tea! I loved it... and I strongly recommend everyone to have such experience. ? ?

Griffin
Ashby Square, LoughboroughAlways loved the Griffin, used to drink Pedi in there in the late 80s and 90s.1st time back in a few years and whilst it had changed a fair bit it is still a decent pub though I had Guinness so I can't comment on the bitter at the mo.Anyway the great news is if you buy an annual discount card for a year (£5) then the beer (and food) in incredibly well priced. Already recouped the fiver after a burger and two pints. Chicken burger was good value for less than £7.On top of the competitive bar prices we were able to watch the rugby (football was on too) so I'd imagine they will have plenty of trade over the world cup.Staff were very good and friendly and stil has a great beer garden! Some on street parking close by (1 hour during core hours, otherwise pay to park car parks are easy walking distance). On the whole a top afternoon thanks and great value for money.

32 Bedford St, LoughboroughHave been visiting the Noodle Bar now for many years, more often than not, on lunchtime beaks with work colleagues. The Kelso
Ward's End, LoughboroughCame here the second night after it had reopened. Just in time for Halloween! There's booths around to sit and chat or a dancefloor if you're thinking about going dancing.TL;DRVery accessibleCleanFriendly staffNice atmosphere10/10 would recommend.Staff were so friendly and assisted me when I had issues with the stairs (mobility aid) and also helped me easily access the disabled toilets (wasn't knocked over by people dancing on the way there!).There are little booths set up for people who would prefer to sit down, and they had a really nice ambiance. All of the bartender's were kind and really quickly got through their orders. The bouncers were also very kind when we were waiting to come in.Managed to run into all three of the managers throughout the night, and they were consistently on top of any issues that cropped up. Any issues that were brought to their attention were IMMEDIATELY addressed!Drinks were amazing, toilets were spotless (even in the early hours before closing), and the vibes were unmatched.Wheelchair accessibility: The place has plenty of room for a large wheelchair to navigate comfortably, disabled toilet which was well maintained! Not sure if it was a training module but the standard of care I got throughout the night was genuinely astonishing. I needed a little assistance getting up the stairs to access the rooftop area, and the staff made sure I was unhindered. I cannot sing their praises enough for this.

The Three Nuns
30 Church Gate, LoughboroughToby Carvery was full so we came into town for a roast, couldn7have picked a better spot. For ordering the last Chicken and Lamb, the meat was cooked perfectly, not over done, and considering my friend is a chef that's high praise.Didnt expect to get a half a chicken and lamb on the bone but found we could have just ordered off the bone.Only criticism is the veg can be seasoned more, mash with more butter, asked if we want gravy on the side, it's ok but I enjoy pouring my own gravy.Definitely a great part of our day. Supreme Fish Bar Ltd
1-3 Ling Rd, LoughboroughI live in Blackpool and come to Loughborough to look after my mother who is 88 years old and a bit of a grump. Anyway, rather than have her cook dinner which it's guaranteed she'll burn, I suggest getting a chippy. I must say that this is the best fish and chip shop in the whole of the UK without a doubt. The food is fantastic with generous portions, the staff are so nice, the owner is amazing and most importantly, it's the cleanest establishment I have ever seen. (I used to own a fast food place of my own in Blackpool and am qualified to make this judgement). I wish to compliment everyone involved in the operation of this chippy and highly recommend you pay it a visit and see for yourself. You won't regret it.

If you’re around the Loughborough/ Leicester area this a must visit breakfast spot. Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere. I’m so sad they don’t have one closer to my home as I think there will be a RBK breakfast muffin shaped hole in my life forever now.

Look forward to another one.

Batter Days
62 Wordsworth Rd, LoughboroughLovely local chippy. Hot and tasty food. They really seem to have gone from strength to strength since opening. Fish and chips are excellent. The price is reasonable. I had a large chips tonight and I thought she wasn't going to stop shovelling chips on!

The Three Crowns
45 Far St, Wymeswold, LoughboroughGood decent 'real' pub in a village where food led pubs seem to rule. Nice live sports, well run and efficient service. Beer range it's all HUK, shame then no Brixton or Cruz surprisingly but did have Neck Oil (like everywhere does now..). A decent pub with nice folk

The Waterside Inn
7 Sileby Rd, Mountsorrel, LoughboroughPersonal recommendation: Chicken Tikka Shashlik.Biggest Positive: Staff Attitude.I go frequently with my wife and/or family, and almost always really enjoy the food. The prices are slightly above average, but very reasonable for the quality (and location). The portions are slightly on the small side, but the kids portions are very generous; you'll often find yourself finishing your child's meal too. What prompted me to review this time was that yesterday I ordered a BBQ chicken and bacon burger, and it was smaller than my son's chicken burger (kid's menu). When the waitress asked, my wife nudged me to mention it, and the waitress returned later to say she'd reduced the cost from £12.50 to £8. I didn't expect or ask for this, and she was extremely friendly and polite about this (as she was with all of us throughout our meal). My point is, that even if some wasn't right, they're quick to rectify it in a friendly manner.I would definitely recommend.Dietary restrictions: I can only comment with regards to coeliac disease. My wife can't have gluten, wheat, or barley; the staff always provide her with a separate menu and are always happy and helpful with any specific dietary questions my wife has. They also have separate menus for vegan and GF online too.Parking: There is a main carpark which fills quickly. There is an overflow which can become sodden in extreme wet weather, but there is a firm path joining it to the main car park. There is also around 4 roadside spaces. It is also only a short walk from the village, and can be accessed by foot. For those arriving by boat, there's an abundance of moorings.Kid-friendliness: Staff are always friendly to children and provide them with crayons to draw with. You can also take you child out to view the canal, boats, and lock which is rather novel.
