Came here with my family for the Sunday Buffet (all you can eat), and was very happy with the quality, especially after seeing the somewhat low ratings prior.Overall, the buffet was good value for money. There was very much a "Quality over quantity" feel to it, in that there wasn't a vast range of dishes on offer, but the ones they presented were cooked to a great standard. Some of the dishes included more expensive options that you wouldn't expect to see in an all you can eat place for £16.50 per head, such as peeled king prawns, crab claws, and crispy shredded beef.Their range of starters was good and high quality, including prawn toast, spring rolls, skewers, chicken balls, and dumplings. The mains induced fried noodles, fried rice, sweet+sour chicken (still crispy even after being left in sauce), crispy shredded beef, chilli chicken, prawns, beef with black bean sauce, and a few other things. All very popular dishes cooked very nicely. The atmosphere was also very nice, and the service was friendly.Would highly recommend for the Sunday buffet. I haven't been yet for the regular menu, but I would imagine it would be of a similar qualityVegetarian options: Vegetarian options are clearly labelled. In the buffet, there are good vegetarian and vegan options, including the sweetcorn soup

Went on a Sunday for the "buffet". Very limited selection and most of it was cold. Decor dated and no atmosphere, very depressing. Waitress was pleasant. Over priced for the selection available... £16.50 for buffet and £3.80 for a coke zero, definitely not worth it and would not recommend it.

The crispy duck is so so good! I love the stir fry beef and the fluffy friend rice

Food whilst tasty was very sparse. We booked for the Sunday buffet and the table was very poor. Having to ask for food and for food not to arrive.Very poor if not appalling servicePlastic cups with a jug of water. Desserts dreadful - cheap cheesecake, tub of ice cream left on a table and not in a freezer.First time here and it will be my last.Booked for a family birthday meal and was totally underwhelmed.I only wish I had read the reviews before posting. Never again.Vegetarian options: Almost non existentKid-friendliness: Rice, Chips and Prawn Crackers

I left it a few days after our visit before making this review, to give me a little time to calm down.Over the years I have attended many Chinese buffet restaurants. Some great, some good and some not so. This restaurant is in a different category.Meeting up with family and friends we chose to meet at Chans. Buffet was just under £15 per person on Sunday lunchtime.Bad choice, couldn't believe it was my idea.Restaurant is upstairs which was the first minor problem as one of us has mobility issues. We entered the restaurant and we're shown to our table. Ordered drinks. All soft drinks, Coke and diet Coke. We chatted for a few minutes and our drinks arrived. Now time for food. First thing I noticed was the empty pans. Fine if you want plain rice or stewed aubergine but I like I think most people in the restaurant wasn't interested in the aubergine. No ribs, no duck pancakes, crispy chicken in batter with chilli which looked OK but was too hard to eat, solid rather than crispy.Sweet and sour chicken, small chicken balls in sauce. Looked OK but on eating the batter was rock hard and there was more batter than chicken. Prawn toast was nice, probably the nicest thing in the restaurant. Prawns with no batter in a type of sauce. I don't know what sauce, I don't eat prawns. Well actually I did eat prawns and toast as these items were OK.Chips, how can chips go wrong? I don't know but they just did.Noodles were pretty tasteless with a plastic type of feel.Chicken on skewers looked great but looks were deceiving. My wife said that they tasted like soap, daughter said that they taste wierd. I tend to agree with both. Chicken curry was OK ish. That covers all of the mains with exception to the soup. We didn't try the soup.Dessert...Dessert was a tupperware tub filled with jelly cubes. Some chunks of pineapple on a plastic tub and a 2 litre tub of ice cream (TESCO I believe). This wasn't in a freezer, just stood on the table with a help yourself spoon. There was some blackcurrant boiled sweet lollipops. Then a few pieces of banana fritter was brought out. The tray had about a dozen pieces about an inch in length for the whole restaurant to share. There was definitely more people than bananas. After the disappointment of main course followed by the disappointment of dessert came the bill. £3.80 for a Coke. Not even sure it was really Coke, it amen from a pump so don't know. On the way home from the restaurant, an hour drive. We were sitting in McDonald's eating a double cheese burger costing £1.50 and saying that the food was better in mcdonald's and that we wish we had met up there. As a group we would have saved over £100, maybe more and would not have been anywhere near as disappointed.Long review. If you skipped to the bottom without reading, the point of the story is NEVER VISIT THIS DISGUSTING HELL HOLE.

Got takeaway - staff were friendly but food was really not good...Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible

Food was really nice, good portions, though some things were a bit blank but probably just the dishes I chose, other meals we had were really tasty. No salt on the table. Service was very good while we were the only ones in there, once we'd had all our food and others had arrived they seemed to forget about us. Not much of an atmosphere, very quiet but that may be up some people street. We went in a Saturday so had a sit down meal, buffet on Sunday may be different.

Honestly disappointed! Mixed starters all deep fried, without flavour.Blsckbean, bland, noodles again bland but the best of the selection. Low quality and tasteless, eat elsewhere. Whilst harsh, truthfully reviewed.

Cold food, limited variety, poor service, dirty facilities. Rude manager who tried to overcharge me for 3 buffets and 3 diet cokes £75 I don’t think so!! Wouldn’t go back very disappointed

The ambience is nice but that was pretty much it. We had to wait very long for the food, and the food was average.

Buffet is a little sad - lots of empty containers and they're all open at about a child's head level so hygiene is questionable

Raw chicken , food arrived 25 minutes apart. Ruined our staff night out
