Gone backwards in terms of vegan food. A couple years ago they had twice as many options and some great vegan desserts including brownie and ice-cream, now my only option was a fruit mousse... I couldn't get any fries because the menus list them with the vegetarian key not vegan, we asked staff to confirm if they were vegan and no one knew and had me looking at the ingredients which was ridiculous. The only reason it's getting three stars is because the new vegan ribs main I did have was really nice.

We called in to Maxwells pub with two small dogs and to our surprise, no greetings and instead a very young rude bar staff jumped down our throats saying, dogs go in the other side of the bar, we both have disabilities where there were no low seats with a table to sit at and very noisy people in the bar, we last visited there a couple of weeks ago and sat in the restaurant area where there was a hard floor area for dogs to sit and tonight, we get jumped on and shouted at to go in the bar area. I think the young lad in the bar (Keiran) needs to learn some manners!! We shall not be returning!

The staff were all welcoming and a shout-out to the chefs and Gareth at the bar for being so brilliant that evening. the food came out fresh off the grill and nothing was cold. Staff were attentive and friendly.There is a nice selection of on tap drinks and a selection of different meals to choose from.If your looking for somewhere to have a nice meal at that's not too expensive I recommend Maxwell's highly :)Dietary restrictions: The team were brilliant on my allergies and they checked the items I was looking at and then I was able to make an informed decision on what to have based on this. I asked them to make some modifications to my meal and instead of just leaving some items off they did some different items specially for me which I thought was a very nice touch :)

Food ordering is done by app from your table. Food is presented well with a selection of fairly typical pub food burger fish and chips scampi etc plus a sizling menu. Service was prompt and helpful.

When the food is cooked right its really good. Just feel like its a bit hit and miss whether it'll be good or meh sadly. Sometimes steak is perfect, other times way over cooked. Sometimes cake is amazing, other times burnt. Decour is the same as always. Decent but wallpaper pealing off. Staff is mostly nice ?

Very busy at the time we got there, the food came out after only 25 minutes wait, were told waiting time was about 35 mins to 45 minutes, so that was good..

Don't like the new menu - not so good value for money now. The Golden Years menu has been discontinued! There's hardly any lighter options - not much choice in the wraps. The Southern Fried Chicken wrap has been discontinued. You don't get a drink included the options now. We have been going to Maxwells nearly every week. What used to cost us just under £12 for two meals not costs us over £16! Don't think we'll be going so often now!

My wife and myself dined in and had a first class meal which was beautifully cooked and very well presented, both the meal and drinks are very reasonably priced. The staff were charming and very helpful all in all a very pleasant lunch time and will most certainly will be returning very soon.

I had sausage and mash but the peas were cold. My girlfriend had lasagne and it was burnt. Not good.

Staff are lovely and the food is amazing, had a hunters chicken, perfectly cooked tasted amazing, yet had the same at a Frankie and bennys restaurant I had one mouthful and left it because the chicken was well over cooked and was hard, won't ever go back there.. IM A MAXWELLS FAN ?% GET YOUR SELVES DOWN HERE AND FILL YOU FACES, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED
